: Milan Dragway today
scoutermike 10-17-2009, 10:56 PM Had a GREAT time today at Milan Dragway in Michigan. Met up with jerseyboy and his Dad, BJB, Steve and Jason from RDP. WOW, I was in some fast company.
Joel brought out the blown Magnuson Dodge Ram that heis testing. Brian had his blown 426 with a new Builder Bill tranny and TC and RDP boys with their Australian Ford Falcon XR8 UTE. Don't remember what motor was in there but there was a Holley Dominator on top. Everyone had their problems during the day (including me with rad fan issues) but Steve took the cake with his last run. Had to be there to see this car launch. Too bad his time slip blew out the car on the way back to the pits. He was sooooo excited at that run. Too bad Brian and Joel had left by then.
Had a great time and hope to do it again, when it's warmer

Muellge 10-17-2009, 11:31 PM Thanks for update. Any updates on the times run by the folks there? Surely they got down the track at least once?
Knuckles 10-17-2009, 11:33 PM Sounds like you guys had a good time at the track man! So what did you and the other guys run?
scoutermike 10-17-2009, 11:57 PM I can only say what I ran and I wasn't impressed with myself. I have run better.
13.08@103.23
13.19@102.58
12.96@103.95
I've run 12.71@106 and with the cool weather, I was hoping for more. Oh well.
Vinnysrt8 10-18-2009, 01:50 AM that not to bad of a time what time did brian run bjb
hawkman996 10-18-2009, 09:02 AM Awesome, that is good company for sure. It would be cool to see that ford falcon run.
What did everybody run?
scoutermike 10-18-2009, 02:21 PM Not sure on Brian's times. He was having launch issues. So much traction n power, it was lifting the front end and throwing it into limp mode and throwing codes. He'll get it worked out. Just installed a new tranny and tc on Friday.
I was having heating issues. My rad fan wouldn't come on. Joel and I checked everything we could think of and couldn't find out why it wouldn't run. I finally had a brain fart and tried putting the stock tune in and still didn't work. Put my CMR tune in and it worked right away. ??????? Getting close to halloween. Must be goblins!
The UTE is a joy to watch run. Something so different from anything here. And right hand drive to boot.

To heck with timeslips, let use the HD camera ;)

Or a MPH to help us take a guess at a ET with traction

Not that I don't think that yellow ranchero isn't set up as a serious drag car, I don't need convincing of that, but didn't anyone at all bother look at the big lights on the sign at the end of the 1320 while the Jeep people were running or was there a naked woman in the 40 degree chill that caught everyone's attention at the end of every run.:D
Sounds like shake down runs with spinning, limp modes and some gentleman's agreement not to discuss or post any times, and the dog ate our homework.
Ok.
there were some sick rides there for sure.
Id love to hear that magnuson blower in person!

It was called the "No ET Nationals" Only way to tell how fast you went was with timeslips. No et's on the board. Makes for some fun betting on who will win. Sandbagging allowed......
Oh, and it was colder than 40. Did I miss the naked chick? Damn!
cobraguy 10-18-2009, 06:30 PM yea i was there in my 08 red rock also running **** times but alot of fun nonetheless. I was there with the black 300 srt8 with 22's lol had alot of fun! that black jeep is nuts didnt get to see it run sadly :( but guy was real cool to talk to. Im prolly gonna go with one of their custom comp cams from rdp.

Never saw you at all. I wish you would have come over or stopped by with your rides.
What did the blown Ram run
Joel didn't run the Ram. Not set up yet.
JerseyBoy@Stage6 10-19-2009, 05:15 AM Had a great time Saturday but man was it cold. Milan Dragway was running the No ET Nationals which is basically street racing on the track. They would not post ETs on the boards and actually cut the time slips in half so your opponent couldn't see your times. The reason being that later in the night they would start handicapping (by giving lenghts, like on Pinks) and people would be putting money on the races (One race went down for $10k while we were there). This was Steves first time out with the RDP ute in the US and wioth his new engine combo. Motor was still fresh so he was working his way up on the tune up. Truck was screaming by the time we left. I heard that last run was pretty exciting.
BJB was fighting AWD issues which I beleive got resolved by the time he left but other issues crept up. Milan is open until Nov7th so I'm sure BJB will be back there before the end of the season. Maybe the Ram will make an appearance then also...

I understand on grudge days just a light at the end, but c'mon, mum's the word on a bunch of runs? I am sure when the times get low, there will be plenty of posting a slips at that point. They'll be no shortage of detail at that point....

There were not that many runs made due to quite a few oil downs on the track and trying to sort out the issues with the Jeep. I'm sure when the issues are worked out and the truck runs a number worth reporting, you sill see it, with time slips to back it up. Right now, there is still more testing necessary to get combo working as it should. Rear suspension is fully adustable (Pinion Angle, Instant Center, Sway Bar, Compression, Rebound, etc) and still needs to be dialed in. I think the best time was a 12.2 blowing the tires off and auto upshifting to 4th. Ran the whole track in 4th gear on that run and pedaled it a bit at the end to avoid getting kicked out. The next run had Limp Mode issues. I don't think Brian made any more passes.

When is RDP going to be at fault or be honest with what they ae doing? Before the issues with BJB Jeep was because MatFab supposedly screwed it up. RDP has had Brian's Jeep for as long if not longer and it still doesn't run right. Whose fault is it now? Lot's of videos of burnouts and dynos but nothing when it comes to 1/4 mile times.
I have nothing against RDP, just we never get to see any real action or slips. Lots of fluff.

I have no doubts on eventual runs, just curious, like everyone else, how they did yesterday. Thanks for the summary.

WTF Chad? Somebody piss in your cornflakes or what? What is your issue?
Or am I just taking all your negative comments the wrong way? If I am, I apologize in advance.

They are a little negative but more out of curiosity. Do you remember the track day they did and supposedly ran in the 10's? It was calculated by a camera, no slips. Another time at the track the transmission blew up not even going down the track. They show dyno runs and smoke shows but no time slips of any actual runs. They bad mouthed a previous vendor and then supposedly fixed it and it still doesn't run right but they are using that vendors parts. I just want to know if I was to leave a $40k vehicle with them I could get it back in working order in a reasonable time. I read most of the posts on this forum especially regarding vendors as there are things I want to do to my Jeep. It's just hard to get facts out of them. Like I stated in a previous post I don't have anything against them I would just like to know if they know what they are doing. There is another site that is moderated by people that think RDP does nothing wrong. I just want to know the truth.
I also am very sarcastic and sometimes it comes out in my posts. :habbobuggs:
