For those who have a 2008+, how often does the "oil change required" appear.
I have searched and it appears that many new owners had it come on around 2,500 miles when new.
Is the 2,500 miles the shortest interval it has appeared at? What is the average mileage for it to appear.

Since there were no replies to this.
How often is everyone changing their oil.
I think every 2,500 miles is a little overkill, especially for a daily driver, not a track car.
I have a related question.
How can you get rid of this message. Oil change is getteing done outside of the dealership (because of all the mods) so I am always stuck with this message.
Thanks

On EDIT:
Here are the steps.
How to reset a service indicator
The oil change indicator can be reset using the following steps:
1. Turn the ignition key to ON but do not start the engine.
2. Slowly depress the accelerator to the floor and release it three times within 10 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
Repeat the process if the indicator does not reset.

I changed my oil at 2500 miles (no indicator).
Indicator came on at ~5500miles and I changed it again.
I plan on changing mine every 3000-4000 miles.

I don't even bother with that indicator. When it comes on I just reset it. I change the oil every 3000 - 3500 miles.

This was done to my jeep and now the indicator light came on after 2500 miles.
I dont know, but I think this is what causes it to come on at 2500 instead of the regular 5,000... I was just wondering... is there any other way to do this?
Maybe when you use the as pedal in start to reset it, it only delays it for 2500 miles???

I don't think that it will automatically come on at 2,500 miles unless your usage relates to the following
The Oil Change Indicator system uses the Powertrain Control Module to process a variety of inputs and then decides on an oil change interval. The factors which point toward severe use include the following:
* Ambient temperature inputs which indicate extended periods of low temperature operation
* Average vehicle speeds which indicate stop-and-go driving
* Run time which indicates prolonged idling
* Trip lengths and coolant temperatures which indicate short trips
* Engine RPM and engine loads which indicate trailer tow usage
* Fuel indications of an ethanol percentage of 60 percent or greater
