I have an 06, without the rearvideo option (it wasn't available). I assumed that the rear video was routed through the nav screen from the factory, isn't it? Where else would it be displayed if not the nave screen? It probably activates when the car is in reverse (I would think). Interesting question though.

Rear video is routed to a drop down screen for the rear passengers only.

Your kidding, what good is a rear view parking camera if the driver can't use it? Oh, I think 2 different things are being referred to here. I assumed that the question was about the new rear view camera option.

isn't someone on here selling an OEM nav unit with a tv display module or some sort?

Oh, I prolly misread the OP. In which case you're right. The backup camera displays on the Nav. I thought he was asking how to get a rear entertainment feed to the Nav.

I think some posters here were looking into it, but I don't recall anyone doing it yet with the standard nav.

You could go to Wal-Mart & purchase a sweet old-school 19" tubed TV & graft that into the dash. :)

You could send your NAV out to get the DVD conversion done.

This is the subject that the administrators shut down and asked not to be restarted. Something about DCX and software copyright infringements jeaopordizing the sites relationship with DCX. We should comply and desist.

Now now boys, you should know very well by now that this would not be a safe option. I would prefer to play the Nintendo Wii if that were possible.

That site is advertising a product that violates the property rights of DCX by hacking their software. That is why the administrators of this site would like this not to be endorsed here. We don't want to lose the support of DCX, so let's move on.

There is a company that offers a harness that allows the read DVD signal to be routed to the NAV screen. Do a search here. It's a little pricey, though.

Edit - Found it:

The dealer has to prove the mod caused the problem.

The problem I've had is with discs being read by the unit. The mod would not cause that and my warranty would still have been covered.

I don't know what the reasons for the administrators to say what they did, I was just passing it along with concern that the site didn't suffer loss of support.
