After only 1 week of ownership I have found the spot I was looking for that will allow me to retain the stock Nav unit and add my alpine DVD player to the front. I will have 3 screens a backup camera and a bad azz stereo and wont have to touch any of the stock components except the front door speakers. I will be putting the DVD player where the Homelink/reading lights are. I was taking things apart and noticed that the spot seemed kinda thick where the homelink panel is. I took it out and Lo and behold there is a freaking cavern in there. I will simply make a new fiberglass console using the factory one as a mold and then fiberglass the mounts for the dvd there. Then I mount it, run cables tap into the ignition somewhere and slide the dvd player in. It will not take any of my view away and I will simply have to reach up to change cd/dvd's and use the remote that came with the dvd to change tracks and stuff. Im going to either go without radio on the dvd or find a way to split the antenna cable. I will post pics as this project gets under way.
Let the building begin.....
Hopefully more of you will add aftermarket stereos after me.....Im going all out..............AGAIN!!
