I thought this was funny Alex of all people not posting pics. But then again, a quick search will reveal pics of the billet knob.

And excuse the smudges on the knob. Don't know how that slipped.

EDIT: And I think I need to align it a bit.

Congrats on taking the step to acquire the shift knob, I know you were hesitant. The heavy weight of the shift will grow on you very fast. From what I've heard its possible in the future that the stock knobs will be one piece so no more custom work on that.

Congrats on taking the step to acquire the shift knob, I know you were hesitant.

It was a holdover from my experiences with worn MT linkages that resulted from weighted shift knobs. I realized I was being silly assuming there'd be the same with an AT.

How much work taking the OEM knob off? What is the thread size. It looks really great.

Thats probably the best pic I've seen with one of those installed

That mod may have just moved up the food chain for me. Thanks for sharing. :)

I had trouble doing it by hand, but then I tried the Teda Method (I think that's who posted it) and wrapped the bottom ring of the OEM knob with a cloth and used a pair of pliers to turn it. Took all of about 2 seconds.

And it's not threaded. The new one is held in with a set screw.

I installed mine two days ago. It's a gorgeous peice! The feel of it alone makes it worth every penny.

Does anyone know if these knobs have a clear coat on them? I installed one a few weeks back and have since scratched the top of the shifter. It is not deep scratch but is visible. I haven't tried to buf it out yet. Any recommendations on how to do this?

Don't let it sit in direct sunlight for a few hours.

Alex,
It looks great... I bought the same one. It seems to make the interior look faster!
