I have a question for those that installed their own HID kits. I have the 9006 kit and the HID bulbs themselves did not seem to "lock" into the socket, you know, like the OEM bulbs did. They'd go the full 1/4 turn and lock into place. Is this normal? They simply turned till they were tight, and it was not nearly the full 1/4 turn lock that OEM bulbs did.
Which bulbs are you guys using, that installed your own kits.

I have my son in my hands right now other wise i would look 4 U, but its in the owners manual. I believe you are correct. 9006 Make sure you have the three prongs in the correct location, two are the same size one is not. Also make sure your bulbs came with the O-Ring if not remove from your old lights
Also looks like They made good with a one day ship nice that the company fixed your issue!

I used the 9006 bulbs that came with my Phillips HID kit. Went in perfectly, although I did have to install relays to eliminate the flicker at "turn off".

Ok, so I can deal with that then.
Also, my 9005 fog light kit will not fit into the fog housing....
I was told that 9005 bulbs would fit. However, nothing I do will make the bulb go into the Fog housing. What the hell am I doing wrong?

Fogs are H10 (9145). Only thr 9006's can be modified to fit a 9005. Sorry bro :(

I would like to build on this original question from Mango. My bulbs also fit tight but only go about an 1/8 vs the full 1/4 turn. Philips 9006.
As a result, the return wire (with porcelain insulator over it) is more at 7 o'clock position than the 6 o'clock position it should be. I am worried this is affecting the light pattern as I have done lots of reading and it has been said that the return wire not being at 6 o'clock will screw up the beam.
I have these multi series of 4-5 vertical lines on the outside of both cutoff lines when you extend beyond the width of the truck. They seem to match both sides and just look wrong.
Anyone with HID knowledge have thoughts?

Had similar issue with my bulb. Not sure if I recommend but I used a pair of pliars to turn the bulb to the correct position. I think it's due to poorly re-based bulb...
