Well since my rear is toast as per my dealer. I am looking for some options for this weak link. Problem is I have no clue about this area of the car, or the parts that are compatible. Help please

If you have a choice between all the diffs on the page, and I'm not sure that you do, you have a few options.
First, stay away from E lockers. I saw one of these malfunction and send Roxanne Sheppard's car into a wall at a race last year. The tried and true pieces are 1) Detroit Locker 2) Truetrac. 3) Plain Jane Posi.
I'm also not sure how our highly e regulated drivelines will tolerate a locker, besdies that (I had one in my daily driven stang for four years) they take some getting used to. They are loud, clunk and pop constantly (loud enough for people in other cars to look at you like you just fired a 9 at them), when turning into a parking space they will lock/unlock so rapidly it appears you're head banging. With the stang I had to change my driving style especially in high speed turns, when the locker locked, your line changes instantly--real fun in the wet. The upside is that they are nearly indestructible.
So I guess your best bet is the true trac. They are smooth as glass by comparison and the revised models should be strong enough to handle what you're going to throw at it. A lot of open track guys run these and torsens. The only downside is I've seen a few of them pop at the strip with high HP cars on slicks.
You could always go with a typical clutch type posi. At some point you'll probably have to replace the clutches but it's really not such a big deal.

Not sure, It started making noise at around 5-6k. Sounded like and aggessive track pad from the rear all the time.
I will let you know. I would like to get something to lock up both tires so i can put it in 2wd and video some drifting:eek:

just wierd how "SRT-8" is the name on our cars but in the owners manual it says "racing not covered"
I'm assuming this diff is not warranty related?

I think the TT is your/our best bet. I can't wait to see if there's any difference in your short times at the strip.
PLEASE keep us updated on your findings!

Two ways. Pull your EDIFF fuse under the hood in the fuse box closest to the firewall. Or wire in a switch. The problem after that you will have to remove the abs fuse so you can actually get moving, This is the Pink fuse in the same fuse box. looking from the front of the Jeep the abs fuse will be on the left(passenger) side of the car. In a row of 4 or 5. There are two abs fuses make sure you pull the larger pink one.
***Disclaimer****
I have only tried this once to see if it worked and have not yet wired up my switches so i have no clue what adverse affects this will have on the Jeep.

1 i run mine in 2wd by pulling the closest pink fuse to the fender from the fuse box closest to the head lights, then i also pull the abs pump fuse wich is also pink located in the fuse box closest to the window ( all under the hood).
no problems with it besides our horse sh*t limitted slip.
2. be carfule when buying a locker!!! I put one in my diesel and it doesnt like to turn unless its sideways... lost of fun buy not a great hangdling set up... rough slow turns. ( its a detroit locker FYI)
keep us posted. if you find one simular to my stock caddy limitted slip count me in
