Met up with one of our Countries bravest Mr. Michael Anthony at Little River Academy Dragway for some runs. I showed Michael what I do before I run and if he would do the same for his jeep I promised him he would get his sought after 12 second time slip. I have to say what an honor for me it was for me to be able to hang out with men like him and his friends that were along with him that serve our Country-THANKS!!! I have more vids only made 3 passes first was against Michael so here goes.
ME
1.81 60'
8.104 1/8 @ 84.63mph
12.67 1/4 @ 105.68
Temps were in the mid 70's very nice night I believe Jim said DA was about +1400 and some change.
Michael Anthony...............Not gonna say:D
Here is a vid my 9 year old son took he would kill me if he knew you guys saw the end. Again Michael what a pleasure it was to finally hang with you at the track people there surely are impressed with the Jeeps too bad that TBSS was running a full second slower than us:D

Like I said last night....Awesome run. You need to stop running faster than us FL boys because we are getting jealous! hahaha What was the corrected time?
My 60' and 1/8 times from Wednesday are right there with you but then you pull a whole tenth on me in the last half?! I have you by 2mph though....I will be interested to see what the data logging shows me. I will be calling you within the next couple of days bud. :)

What is it you do to guarantee 12's. I ran a 13.04 the other night.

What is it you do to guarantee 12's. I ran a 13.04 the other night.
I'm going to use Skyes jeep as an example to show you can take our jeep into the 12's with little mods in the Texas summer heat
His mods at the time were Mopar CAI and the Diablo 93 CAI PERF tune and AEM UEGO wideband guage to lean/richen fuel as needed but find that the 93 tune is pretty good in the 12.2 range so left it alone.
Before leaving the house I will buy about 3-10lb bags of ice and transfer those to 1 quart freezer bags and put them into a large cooler this way you can fit 3 of those bags on top of the manifold and 3 down each side. I will lay down a towel between the fuel rails and the manifold to catch any condensation so in all you will have 9 bags sitting on the manifold. The first set will melt pretty quick so keep an eye out and swap them as needed.
I also use a jumper to activate the high speed fan while the jeep is off to help in the cooling down process plus this will cool down the radiator and coolant.
I also take along a thermal guage scanner and as I replace the bags of ice I'm looking for the BACK of the manifold to be under 100 degrees preferably as cool as you can get it but always under 100.
If you have a metal type CAI you can also try and cool it down as well remember you IAT will sense that heat.
So fan is on, ice is on the intake, front tire pressure at 40 psi, rear at 35 psi (helps with weight transfer and lower 60' times). I will wait close to 2 hours before making my first pass and will also check the weather either by phone or getting a forecast printout as at some point in the evening there is a point to where the air is the coolest it will get before the humidity negates any lower temps, like on this past friday night 8pm was cool enough and the humidity levels were not that bad so I made my pass and after that it did cool down some but the humidity levels rose higher than the temps lowered so my cool temp advantage was gone plus the more humdity out typically the worse you will hook at the line and will get some tire spin, lower 60' times and a slower pass.
So in short here is what you need
1. Ice in quart bags (to fit under strut bar)
2.Fan jumper (cheap mod)
3.Thermal scanner (not so cheap mod)
4.Some idea of weather for the night paying attention to both air temps and humidity levels.
With these simple steps I was able to take Skyes jeep to a 12.92 in the middle of the Texas summer. Try it out cant hurt.:D
