: Builder Bills Stage II Valve Body is a GRADE A mod!

For those who have a cmr tune:
- Do you remember the day how stoked you where about finally experiencing the vast improvement in performance a cmr tune gave your rig over the stock or canned tunes?

The bb's stage II valve body is in that same category hands down.

For those who are running a stock or diablo canned tune:
- I highly suggest you go the cmr route because I guarantee you will be upset that you did not get it earlier. Than when you experience that pumped up feeling from a mod you never thought could be so sweet, ask yourself, "do i want to feel pumped up all over again?" If so... the valve body is your answer :)

An all day event of reading positive reviews on bb's valve body still may not justify you laying out the dough (if you are lightly modded like myself) for a mod that does not increase your hp/tq ratings. Even when I read an infinite number of threads on this topic I still had my doubts because I truly believed after my cmr tune that my rig shifted like an animal and the tranny was as confident as it could be. I simply couldn't have been more wrong!!

I finally had the opportunity to have BB's Stage II Valve Body installed yesterday. I will leave the WOT out of it. Everyone is very accurate with their description. The jeep is a complete animal with the new valve body and words can't describe the improvement. You will have to feel it yourself to understand. The rigs hood goes up during acceleration and never comes back down :D What is important more than ever though is during WOT make sure your tranny is above 140F or the TCM will NOT give you full line pressure (as per BB).

As much as I was impressed with the WOT improvement I was equally impressed how well the transmission shifted on command. I would consistently hit the rev limiter on my 1-2 up shifts in autostick (My jeep does not automatically up shift in autostick). The delay in up shifting at WOT with the stock valve body was horrible. When I tried it the first time with the new valve body it was a clean and powerful transition. But the best part of the up shift was how quickly she shifted on command!

The valve body doesn't just improve up shifting. The benefits of the down shift are enormous. I am very curious to know the improvement in stopping distance. I tried a hard stop early this morning and was thrilled to feel the tranny down shift so confidently and aggressively into each gear. It also felt like the transmission, pre bb valve body, was always searching for a gear during cold early morning drives. When I would pull out of the driveway the tranny still seemed sound asleep so to speak. Early this am as I pulled away from home theres no doubt the tranny downed some red bull even before my alarm clock went off. Every time, no matter when, the tranny with the new vb knows what to do. You can feel it from your seat completely engage and lock in more than ever. I now understand why this mod increases our transmissions reliability. For the first time I feel my tranny thirty for more horsepower. Now, thanks to Bill, I may just have to brake the bank a little more and find her some :)

I hope this helps anyone who is on the fence. I'd love for everyone to experience this improvement because this is seriously how the jeep should have been from the factory. In every aspect the stage II valve body is a huge improvement over stock. I also feel great knowing the money I spent was worth every penny. Hope to hear more stories on how BuilderBill helped transform your jeep :) He's there for you every step of the way so do not expect anything but the best service.

Sweeeeeeeet... in 45 minutes I get to drive the rig :) Temp of 140 and its go time.. !! It couldn't come soon enough :)

later guys

gene

PS - I tried to eliminate the SICKS and the DUDES and the SWEEETS and the WOWs etc to make it as eligible as possible for everyone. I gotta say dudes.....i couldnt explain how sweet she feels in every shift... wot is so sick... wow am i pumped... its siiiiick...!!!!!!!!!! :D

The VB has been high on my list of 'must have mods'. 2nd only to the Predator + CAI combo I'm saving for now. If Bill took monthly payments, it would be done! Seriously, thanks for the great write up and for stoking my fire.

That is awesome Gene. I'm glad your liking the VB so much. It has been on my to do list forever but the cash hasn't been there to back it up.

Awesome write up, I have been debating and researching my next mod and I am strongly leaning towards the BB VB. I would already have it on order if it wasnt for those damn GoodYears.

Nice write up...until you have the Bill's valvebody anything you do read will not do it justice.

Just call Bill, give him a credit card number then you can find out how it SHOULD shift!

Nope...why?

That was Bills first attempt at the valvebody, I had it first, hard shifts and especially hard downshifts!! In traffic when it would downshift into first you would hear and feel a clunk!! Huge difference now!!
