I know JGCSRT8 fulfills most of my wishlist for the ultimate SUV but I wish it had the following:

1. 6.4l 500hp with 7 speed MB tranny
2. HID projector headlamp - again, confirmed for 2008 model
3. LED rear tail lights
4. Redesigned rear - with dual exahust which allows for trailer hitch in the middle. Similar to that of an ML63.
5. Softer/better interior pieces - dash/door panel (hopefully for 2008)
6. Darker upholstery - confirmed for 2008
7. Upgraded radio/Nav w/ rear subwoofer - confirmed for 2008 (MyGIG) minus the sub
8. More color choices

All this for no more than $47,000 MSRP - i know, keep on dreaming... :)

I know I am dreaming but just my wishlist

If I may add to your dream:

An additonal gear as an overdrive. Such a huge motor should not be close to 3,000 rpm at highway speed and that gizmo that turns off 4 cylinders when at crusing speed. This would translate into much better mpg without affecting performance.

Wake me up when these things happen.

I totally agree - that's why I want the 7 speed auto, hopefully with a better gear for the highway

I hope they NEVER change the dual/center exhaust exit. It really makes our trucks look unique and add's to the appeal for me. Buy a Tahoe if you want to tow something.

Buy a Tahoe if you want to tow something. or Ml63 or Cayenne Turbo. All I am saying you can have hardcore performance and utility as well. Then again, I guess I can just get a Jeep tow kit.

I knew you were going to say that! Just wait till you will a boat in one of those charity lotteries and are trying to figure out how to tow it...

I hope they put a 6 or 7 speed auto in. Also, shift paddles would be cool too!

Most important to me #1 & #5. More hp & a tranny that can react like a hp tranny should. It should have a quiker/harder shift under hard accel/manual shifting. I'd also like to see lower gears to go w/the 6/7 spd tranny so we get to 60 in 4 flat stock, while improoving to ~18/20 mpg highway. A more vast aftermarket would be nice too(that may be beyonddreaming, maybe I'm high :) ). The interior needs to be not only softer, but more modern/elegant/sporty & more unique when compared to a reg GC (soft materials that should only be available on the SRT8 etc.). It could be lighter using some aluminum/carbonfiber etc. A functional hoodscoop may be ok (not to ghetto).

I agree, the SRT8 needs to be unique. It should be even more unique in the future, more things should seperate it from a reg GC.

+1

And paddle shifting is worthless with an automatic with a torque converter IMO. It needs to be a clutchless manual like DSG/SMG technology.

Yeah, I'd love for it to shift harder.

I was riding with someone the other day and they said it felt like a CVT to them, especially at lower rpms.

I am curious if the firm shifts can be had with either 1) transgo shift kit or 2) programming. I recall having both in my old C5 and made a pretty big diff.

How about the piece of plastic around the key on the dash.
