As of late my power has been erratic, sometimes the car hauls and sometimes it lags - shifts erratically and of late has had a random " service 4wd system" light come on quickly enough to make the noise and than go off. Also going from a dead wot after reaching about 100mph I can smell burning through the vents. I did this last night and the smell was very strong and for the first time the service 4wd system light came on for about 15 seconds. I went to the dealer today and the actuator was replaced with " Internal failure transfer case motor" printed on the work form. Driving the car back it feels like it has solid shifts again and high power. I'll do another 100mph wot tonight and see the effects. Just wanted to get this info out in case others were having these symptoms.

Well I just ran the car wot to 100mph and than did several wot runs on the highway, and nada. No burning smell at all - No service awd signs at all and most importantly crisp and accurate up and down shift. :D Than tomorrow i'll run it with my gtech and see how it goes. Before I was getting 4.3.-4.4 and last time I got a 4.6 ( most likely from the acuator ) will find out tomorow.

Was this a while-you-wait fix?? I can't stand leaving my vehicle anywhere overnight!

that's great news - I'm having the erratic issue it seems - at 30-40 mph it has no idea what it wants to do, downshifts sometimes & others lags badly
