(Feel free to move, Bernie ;))

I got an oil change about 4 months ago, but only put 3k miles on it. I'm currently running 15W50. If I change, it will have to be back to 0W40 because of the fall/winter/cold weather.

Should I run again with the "dirty" oil or run with the "clean" oil?

IMO ur oil is good untill 5K.

I would run on the 15W50, rather than the winter oil.

Change to 5/30 all yr around. Mobil also has a 0/30 that replaces the 0/40 and 5/30 but they are still making the 5/30 but not the 0/40.

Clean oil is always a good thing but you prolly won't see any difference at the track
I plan on running 15W50 year round

Yeah, I'm going to stick with 15W50 until next month or I see the temps dip to freezing.

Why would you want to drop down to /30?

How can 0/30 "replace" 0/40?

but they are still making the 5/30 but not the 0/40.
Since when did they stop making 0/40?

I WAS WRONG READ BELOW.

THAT WHAT I WAS TOLD BY THE STORE MANGER BUT I CALLED MOBLI 1 AND THEY TOLD ME THAT 0/40 IS STILL MADE AND 0/3O IS AN ALTERNATE FOR 5/30&10/30 WT OILS. THE MOBIL 1 TECK GUY SAID THAT HE WAS SUPRISED CHRYSLER WOULD EVEN REFER TO ANY1 GOING TO 15/50 WT EVEN WITH A HI PERFORMANCE STOCK ENG.

This is just my opinion.
Nothing really 15/50 is a good oil but most stock motors have tight rod & main bearing clearences and dont need that heavy of oil.
Most drag motors have bigger clearences in the rod & main bearing than a stock motor and thats why most use 50 wt racing oils.
