Has any one here used a Volant Cold Air Intake from www.volantperformace.com ?

Anyone likes them? Dislikes them?

I'm happy.

I haven't heard anyone say they're not.

Just ordered one from Southern Hot Rod $295., along with the Corsa exhaust. From what I have read on the forum, it should be a positive result.

I am very happy with mine. Just pick a CAI you like though... they are all roughly the same when you get into the name brands.

I tried the stock/snockel mod with ram air. My best time was 13.37 in 50 degree weather. My best time with Mopar CAI was 13.22 in 39 degree weather. My best time to date was with stock airbox with KN. It was 43 degrees and I ran 13.16 at 102.51.

I recently installed the Volant. In 60 degree w, I ran 13.28 at 102. I believe w temps in the 40s, I would best my 13.16 by at least at 10th. Why? my quickest time with stock box, KN when it was in the 60s was 13.37 at 101. The Volant is better all around based on my track experience and daily driving. It is smooth, quiet, and the fitment is precise. I had the GSM CAI. Sent it back.

Very good unit. Keeps the hot air out and you can adapt the ram air to the brake scoop for under $15 with parts at Home Depot Or what ever the what ever the Canadian equivalent is, Maple Depot you choose.

Oh, congrats on St. Pierre (spelling?) beating Matt Huges, It was bound to happen eventually, St. Pierre is a good fighter.

I just installed the Volant CAI on my 07. Fit and finish are excellent. Not too difficult to install. No hot air intake from under the hood. Quiet as stock.
All my other CAI's are loud on acceleration, K&N, AFE etc.
The Volant is the right product.
HP Gains? Questionable. True Flow told me at SEMA that the SRT engineers did a very good job with the stock intake. They will not (as of 11/06) be producing a CAI for the Jeep SRT8.

So does the Volant CAI use the stock plastic tube for inlet air?

If not, where does the inlet air come from?

Yes it does use the stock tube behind the grill and there is a hole in the bottom for a ram air tube (not produced yet)
