After 40 hours with no sleep, a plane delay, Crazy traffic ,1780 miles and a 26 hour drive through 6 states and like 8 fillups,

I got My SRT8

It was a grueling drive considering I drove straight through with only stops for gas. I dont know how I accomplished it but I am still recovering from the drive.

I Love it!! I have some TSB's to take care of but I am very happy with it..

Im glad I was on this forum before I purchased it because the weird noises would have freaked me out.....And the adaptive learning this SUCKS!!

I will figure out how to reset it.

I will post my mods as I do them and contribute as much as I can....

Thank you all for posting all the helpful info here!!!

Gotta get to work so I can still afford this thing!!

You guys are awesome....

I appreciate all your thoughts and congrats.

I will in return show you all how I use my skills on the Jeep.

Thanks for thinking about me this weekend!!

I was hotrodding down the road and passing up everything that possibly moved

I saw 1 other Jeep SRT in missouri around the Rolla area at I believe 2:00pm. It was silver and going west on I-44.

ndm - I think there were a bunch of us here waiting for your post to know you made it back alright and were enthusiastic as ever. Sure the adrenelin kept you going on the drive back, but that schedule sounds crazy.

Close your door and get some sleep at your desk so you can play with the Jeep when you get home. Congrats!

Too bad its a cube...

I must have been crazy to dothat, but you can see how bad I wanted this thing! I think the adrenalin ran out at 8 hrs, then it became a Quest. Like my Indian entrance into SRT manhood.

I cannot tell you why I did not fall asleep at least once. I have no answer for that.

NDM, get back to work.

Don't want your dream turning into a nightmare.

Actually I got info this morning that it may be getting even better!!

I probably will never do that again....Do I get a trophy or something...oops I just remembered, I drove my trophy to work!!

Congrats. The fun has just begun.

To say the least!!

As one new owner to another, congrats!

From one owner to another, This bish is a bad AZZ Mofo!!
Better than I thought it would be. The ride on a bumpy road is worst than I thought it would be a little better but too bad...Im keeping mine....Maybe I might at some time get different tires that ride better. I heard that the run flats ride rougher that normal tires.
I could for some more beef in the tires.

I'm new here, but I'll be getting mine in about a month. I can imagine how psyched you must be. Plus you had to work for it, so it will be so much sweeter to drive.

Congrats! Enjoy!!

"I have entered the darkside again Luke"

Black as night on mars.

I tried to stay away from the darkside, but I could not resist the FORCE..

I lost my Jedi Knight status....That is until I completed that drive....

What and risk the possibility of premature wear and tear on my interior?
No way...I would rather sleep in a cold Artic winter storm with a pack of wild Wildabeasts to watch over me and the Jeep.

"And it was written, Thou shalt not risk damage to the Jeep. Given under the hand of the Lord. Any man that so risks, Shall be damned to a lonely existance in the underworld of lesser automobiles"

Wasnt that from Psalms or proverbs or something...It should be!!!

ndm - you purchased a used 06', correct?

If so, check to see if your tires have been checked under the Goodyear "customer satisfaction campaign".

Here is a link that discusses the issues and how to see if your tires might have a problem:

Yep..that previous owner told me he was waiting til the last minute so he would get the most out of the old tires. I have an appt for TSB updates tomorrow and Im going for the tires this weekend.

I checked the link and cross-referencedwith my VIN and looks like I should be getting my reward providing the tires are messed up.

I wish i wish....

This will make it damn near brand new for me...Plus I have the scored rotors... so hopefully that will be another reward!!

Black is awesome!

I think I'm gonna join you on the darkside.

Upgraded rotors too, you'd probably need to do those eventually, so it's great you have 'em already. I know that Dodge is notorious for cheap stock rotors. The steel isn't strong, poor metallurgy I think.

Have fun Luke Skywalker! :D
