so i get my mail yesterday and find a letter from the dealership...thinkin what could it be since it wasnt a standard looking letter....Anyhow long story short there F'ers seriously sent me a letter asking if they could buy my 07' Jeep since they had seen a high demand for these (thanx Keoni. lol)....so here is the funny shiz...even after telling me there was a high demand they come back with a lowball price of 17,700...LMAO! I couldnt believe it, thought man, i think they are missing a '0' at the end of that....having been a dealership i had install Bill's Transmission and T-case they damn well knew what all had been done to my Jeep at that time (PPP 426 w/H&C, TRanny, T-Case, badass tune, sway bar links and the list goes on....what an insult for them to even consider throwing such a lowball price at me. HA!...letter below.

even realizing that the 17,700 offer is just the beginning (knowing i could get a lot more) i know they still arent willing to dish out what it really is WORTH to me...especially after i get it back. ;) i may go in when i get it back just for kicks and just to let them know just how foolish they are...if they want this jeep they better have a quarter mil. ;)

I have received these letters before. They are a mass mailing trying to drum up business. I am guessing the dealership had an advertising company create the letter off of a list of vehicles sold and serviced at the dealership.

I would not take offense personally. Of course if you have a decent relationship with one of the salesmen you could always mess with him next time you are in. Like you said you could add a "0" to the end and tell him they have a deal.:D

considering th only "preowned 07 Grand Cherokee" i own is an SRT i think they knew what they were looking for. just wonder how many others with an 07' got this letter....and doesnt it strike anyone odd that it was sent a few days after Keoni's PINKS ALL OUT runs? think there may have been a few people running to the dealerships hoping they would find an "07" after seeing that show. lol

Now we know where you live, where do you keep your keys again.hehehehehe

figured that someone would catch on to that, and pretty much knew you'd be the first. lol maybe it's just my way of encouraging fellow SRT8 guys to come out to CO? ;)

no offense taken, i honestly find it quite humorous...and even an extra "0" at the end wouldn't do the trick on this rig. ;)

Ha, I didn't know dealers did that. That would seem like an insult for you as you have one of the sickest jeeps around!

It wouldn't be so bad if your jeep was an 06, and had over 100k miles :D

You have to read the fine print. :D It's based on a 5.7 Limited.

LOL. What jokers. I would cash in on that oil change offer though! In the ** disclaimer it says only chrysler and Jeep vehicles, but nothing about the usual "up to 5 qts, specialty vehicles may cost an additional fee"

I agree that is a lowball offer....but the modifications and the fact it is pre-08 actually lower the value in the eye of the mainstream buyer. The average buyer doesn't care if it pre-08 has a stronger engine usually...and heavy modifications, unless it is a relatively new vehicle don't help. It creates the perception the car has been run hard.

Also I can't recall if your car has a wrap or if it was repainted, by the repaint will also lower resale value.

LOL...ur a funny dude. I am honestly aware of depreciation due to it being a used 07'....but honestly 17,700? do you really believe that is all it is worth to a consumer? all i have done is increase the value of this vehicle beyond the original sticker when it was new, even if it is used i would still get more than i originally paid...besides, like i said before there is more sentimental value than most could afford...it's called PRICELESS at this point. ;)

I agree..... I'd go in for the oil change. It doesn't say ANYTHING about SRT8's. It would be funny just to see what they offer you though. Ooops..... nevermind. I just saw the $17,700.00 offer. What a joke. I swear car dealers think that the general public are absolutely STUPID! That's why I absolutely drad buying a new car b/c they make it so damn difficult! Drives me nuts.

not sure i can even trust a dealership to do an oil change on my rig anymore. lol...and that 17,700 i HOPE is just the lowest bid they could come up with....knowing they'd be closer to 32-35 (for a std SRT)...i WILL definitely be going in there once i get the jeep back (in a month)...sit down with them and pretend to be serious with them, then i will take em out to the Jeep, pop the hood and tell them they are F'n crazy to think they could EVER get mine off me for anywhere near 17,700. think they might stand there with their fists in their mouths at that point, considering my motor alone is more than that. lol...wonder how high i could get them to go?

may even bring a buddy along so he can film it. ;)

Not a good idea to include your name & address in that image. I've already removed the image from the quoted post. Your choice of course.

"HA" is right! Yeah Roger, not to burst your bubble (agreed you got an all-time lowball offer), but these types of letters are going out all over the place. One of my co-workers got a similar letter for her Toyota Camry! (Did I miss one on a "Pinks" episode? LOL) Like someone else on this thread mentioned, these are in fact mass mailings by independent advertising firms to whom the dealership has sold your info. Depressing times....

They'd turn around and sell for triple that. Tell them if they need money so bad to sell the crack they've been smoking.

bahahahaha this whole thread is a disgrace to Jeep dealers everywhere. This one in particular should be shut down for such a ridiculous offer, if you can even call it that.

More like a kick in the nuts and then a hilarious joke told afterwards. No wonder they're called "Stealerships" hmmmm
