Just got an 08 jeep srt8 19k miles and it didnt come with the sport pedals it just has the normal pedals. I went to the dealership and told them that i needed the pedals and it didnt come with them they had never heard of the pedal covers.

They even told me i was crazy to think that they would come uninstalled in the jeep.

Ok so that was first issue.

I also was only given 1 key with my jeep so i went in to get the 2 free replacements (H30) and first the service manager once again acted like i was crazy even after quoting what was said on here about the customer satisfaction bulletin thing.

Then i was like wow it's H30 and he was oh oh well thats a recall u need an appointment and im like oh so now u know what i mean. obviously the guy thinks i dont know what im talking about. So he runs my vin and tells me my vin isnt available for the new keys??? could this be true its an 08. I really don;t want to pay for 2 new keys (the one i have is in pretty bad shape)

Didnt help that this service manager is prolly 40 or so and im 21 with a srt8. They basically don't listen to a word i say and think they know so much more.

anyways I left the stealership with nothing except being pissed off. Is there anything i can do to get the pedals from a dealer or the keys?

the guy told me i would need to turn in the old pedals to get them warrantied and i tried explaining to him they didn't come with the jeep! how do i turn them in?!

So is there anything i can do?

Same thing happened to me when I bought my 08 with 6000 miles. Basically we came to an agreement that the guy would get me another key. So after 4 months of owning it and bugging this sales guy I got my new Key FOB. At this point I was not even worried about getting the guy to pay for the programming so I ended up paying the 60 dollars to get it done at the dealer. So I would bug the crap out of that salesman that sold you the Jeep.

Next for the pedals I didn't realize that it came with the pedals too, so I asked the sales man and he told me he wasn't aware that they came with them. So after talking to a few members on here they told me that they did come with their Jeep. So unfortunately I called the sales man a few time time and he said that he could not get them. So I was SOL on that one. Well hopfully you get everything that you are missing man.

Good luck!

Pedal covers come in a box with the Jeep SRT8. Some dealers will install them.....others won't especially if it's in the winter time.

I can get you a picture of the box and any part numbers or anything if you want. I still have my pedal covers in the box they came in at my house. Been meaning to put them on, LOL.

Why would anyone take off the covers like that? Also what is the problem you guys are having with your key fob's?

The covers don't come installed from the factory. They come in a box.

And the Key FOBs had an issue with the actual key coming/falling out of the Fob. I believe they did a recall or TSB on the vehicles that had the bad ones.

putting those covers on is a major league pain in the rear! When I got my jeep, it had the pedal one one of the pedals, but there was no cover at all (not even the standard one) on the other... How crazy is that? Did someone actually take it off? I just realized that my right rear door is missing a piece of weatherstripping.

Try a different dealer. Call first and see if they have them in stock and if they will perform it without any drama or problems.

H30 is a "Customer Satisfaction Notification" for all 2008 WKs, LXs, Commanders, Caravans, and Town & Country.

More info can be seen here: www.wkjeeps.com/recalls/CSN_h30.pdf

Has this dealer ever sold a new SRT8 because if they had they would know that the pedals come in a box. I was able to get the pedal cover on the gas pretty easily but I couldn't get the brake pedal cover on no matter what I tried. So when I took it in for it's free oil change I had the dealer install it. When the mechanic drove the Jeep out to me he said that he had a hell of a time getting it on. Good luck

The brake pedal is a pain to put on, but if you soak it in hot soapy water for 20 mins or so, then slide the bottom on the pedal first and pry the top corners over the top edges of the pedal, it does slide into position. It helps if you have smaller fingers to get inside the edges of the cover, but it was killer on the fingers.

If you bought a used car, then maybe the previous owner took them off before trading it in or never installed them in the first place.

They are $45 from just for jeeps, here http://www.************.com/srbrpe.html

Also I have heard from members here that you need both keys to take advantage of the TSB if you want both replaced. Some however have swindled another key out of the dealer.

Good luck, and don't expect much from Chrysler service departments. It sucks that you have to do your own research on your truck to make sure the work will be done correctly at the dealer, but it will save you headaches in the long run.

I heard a good trick for installing the pedals. First thing is to heat the up, either with warm water or leaving them in the sun. The second thing is to line the inner edges with a string or shoelace, then get one edge over the pedals. Once one edge is over pull on the string and that should pull the rubber lip over the pedal.

ok so when i bought my 2008 new mine also didnt come with them and i showed the manager the sales sticker window sticker and right there on it it says bright pedals and i showed him the truck and said i have no bright pedals and he ordered a set and put them on with no problem

These are a dealer install. So they most likely got lost somewhere or they were sold to somebody else. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody dropped in looking for a set and the parts dept. sold it for $50 cash.
