I purchased my GC two days ago and did the 9006 HID headlight and the H-10 fog light conversion yesterday. They worked fine after the initial install test. After driving home last night one h/l quit working and then 10 minutes later, the other h/l quit working. I tested everything I know of including voltage to the ballasts and the ground connection, but they do not work for more than 10-20 minutes before going out. On the test bench, they work fine.
It was suggested by the supplier that a lot of Chrysler vehicles (Mercedes too) have a fluctuating voltage supply. Supposedly the fix for this is reinstall the HID kit, then take the GC to the dealer and tell them I installed HID's on the vehicle and then they can "scan" the module that controls the lights and re-program that module for HID's.
Anyone else have this problem/heard of this???
A little background info.....I own a car stereo shop and have done many HID conversions with no issues......even on my SRT-10 that I recently sold.
TIA for any help in this matter. :)

Do you have a relay kit hooked up?

CAR AUDIO shop owner, cool deal, I was a MECP First class installer for 8yrs I am a bit rusty but still know some stuff.
Add a relay and just use the headlight plugs as the turn on. If this does not solve the problem it is possible that you have a bad control module. This happen to me. I tested everything and no power to the pass headlight, no fuse blowen, nothing. End up being the module fried the pass side, after trying to hook up the HID's w/o the relay. GOOD LUCK

My HIDs worked when I first installed them, but flickered like crazy when the truck was running. Not sure if your problems were like mine at all. This set did not include a relay, so I built a harness with a 30 amp relay, fused. That took care of everything.
My kit is a 4800K D4R.

Guys, thanks for the responses. I'm happy to say that after building a 30-amp relay for each side, my 8000K's are the $hit!!!!! Working fine.....(right now)!!!! :o I'll update after a night of the "real world test".:D

UPDATE
The relay fix worked.....
The GC is rolling with it's bright whites gleaming!!!
Of course, after having them on my SRT-10, the 8000K HID heads and fogs were a priority the day I picked it up.....:D
