Newbie here. Went and checked out the GC SRT 8 yesterday at a dealer in NE Phila. Asked the sales guy if they were selling them under MSRP yet (LOL).

He proceeded to tell me some BS story that they buy them straight from Michigan (doesn't every dealer LOL), and that they are selling at $7K over sticker. I told him why would I pay $7K over sticker when I can order from the factory and get one for MSRP and only wait 3 months????

He then tries to tell me that "you can't get one for MSRP by ordering them", I kinda just chuckled and told him I already know I can (thanks to this forum).

Anyways, I am hoping to either find one on a lot for MSRP in the next few months, or wait and order one of the 2007 models later in the year. Still haven't seen one on the road yet, and can't wait to pull the trigger. Thanks for allowing me to live vicariously through your posts!!!!

I got mine with no markup. Many dealers in the Boston area are selling them at sticker price

Town Motors in Exton, PA has a Silver GC SRT8 on the lot for sale at MSRP.
Got my Black GC SRT8 from them 2 weeks ago at MSRP.

I completely agree! They have a black one and 3 red ones. All four have all options except the infotainment system, which is an option I want, so I'll continue to wait, and hope to find a black one loaded.

Call Dennis Crilly the GM at Sport Chrysler Jeep in Norristown 610-539-3100 x21, he should have a Black fully loaded coming in very soon. I had a deposit on it, but pulled it when Town Motors called.

Unfortunately you can not order directly from the manufacturer, you need to go through a dealer, and MSRP is only "suggested", that's what the S stands for. That is why many dealers try to clean up on these vehicles. I wouldn't doubt that he bought them off a lot in Michigan. I was considering buying more than one myself when I bought mine from Michigan. They are sitting on lots there, and can be had for under MSRP.
Shipping to Philly shouldn't be much, I negotiated my shipping to be paid by the dealer (which was 300 miles to Chicago). No need to wait.

It wouldn't be unheard of for one dealer to clean out another dealer of these vehicles. Some dealers in high demand areas might not be alloted for a single one of these, so they basically could buy them from one dealer and flip them.

Yes, I had it at MSRP from him, you should be able to get the same.

Well, I just bought mine in New York. Black with all options. They were asking 48,900. After a week of haggling including walking out of the dealer, they lure me in for 43,500. The problem was that they quoted the price on an srt8 without the dvd. It was their mistake and I let the management have it for wasting my time and what not, They finally cried and agreed to sell it for 43,700. Then I whipped out a 200.00 off coupon I printed off the net that they HAD to honor. They had no choice and accepted the loss and the heat from the owner for this. I walked out of there with a barnd new black srt8 loaded f0r 43,500. I had dealers offer to buy it off me.

I was lucky in that the dealer was having a slow month and needed to push metal. I was also lucky in that they f'd up and I held them to it.

I ordered mine about 9 months ago from my local dealer, we agreed MSRP and no more, a red and a silver came and went before I got my black, EP made the deal so much sweeter it was almost obscene.
