I would think it would be a challenge for both fitment and workability. The 2007 Commander will offer a power liftgate. It's possible that the parts could be retrofitted in a Grand Cherokee. I'd wait until the Commander comes out and then take a look at how it is configured and go from there. Jeep will most likely add a power liftgate for the Grand Cherokee but not until the 2008 or 2009 models.
