Hey guys little info here for those who care.

Just had my new front rotors put on. They also installed my Centric Posi-Quiets all the way around, and installed a new shifter assembly as it would not communicate with Starscan, and no codes could be read. There was a short in module. No charge for anything, even wheel R&R and install of my pads front and rear. As I have said before, great dealer.

Slight occasional squeal from left rear, but since I have two new and two old rotors on now, I'll wait a bit for some pad transfer before bedding is as per Dave Z.

Okay....for those with billet shift knobs, you know how easy it was to turn locking ring a quarter ring on OEM knob, pull off and replace with billet. Well not anymore. The new assembly (which shop foreman said was a new design due to some software issues) is all one piece. The knob does not come off. We even went online to look at repair procedures etc. So back to stock look. Will have to get used to it. Loved the feel of the billet on shifts.

Looked at new Red Rock they have there. Did not care for appearance (rough not smooth) of paint on the areas that were black on the 06's.

The Red rock does not have sunroof, Nav or DVD. They will sell at MSRP for sure. Right about $41,000. Any discounts would require negotiation. Any one interested call 813-685-4511 and ask for John in Sales. DLR is Courtesy, Just East of Tampa.

Also (appearance preference only) the 06 has a black rear windshield washer nozzle in third brakelight. 07 has a clear red plastic one that blends right into the red of the 3rd light lens. I liked it. PN #68025039AA, easy change out. About $14.50.

These guys always treat me right. Definite thumbs up from me.

I still have a TINY short squeak at 30mph from my left rear. Bedded in twice. Ready to order one more rear set from Dave and see if that eliminates it. The copper paste eliminated 95% of the squeak.

I posted earlier that shift knob would not come off the new shift assembly installed yesterday. This is INCORRECT. In the repair manual the whole assembly appeared as one piece, and there was no instruction for removal of knob.

Today I just kept thinking and looking at the original oem knob and the new oem one and kept saying to myself....this ain't right. They are absoulutely identical and why would they change the design and eliminate ability to remove knob even if assembly is updated.

The original one I had was removed with a very easy quarter turn counter clockwise and straight up lift. So I figured what the Hell go for it. Took a wash cloth and pair of channel locks, and although it took a lot of pressure, sure enough, the ring/locking mechanism finally released and off it came. Now of course it will turn back and forth with ease. Must have been a little burr or something inside. Just thought I'd share this so as not to mislead anyone with my previous info.

Each to his own, but I really prefer the weight and feel of the billet knob. Missed it immediately on return to stock, and am glad to have the billet back on.

Anway, if anyone messes up theirs or needs one, I have an extra oem one that you are welcome to.

I think you'll like it Alex. I know you had concerns over the additional weight issue, but after having seen the assembly itself after removing consol yesterday, I believe there will no issues.

The overall feel, particularly on those quick up or down bumpshifts kind of reminds me of my first experience with the Hurst kits when I replace the shifter and that crappy little white ball knob on my 61 Corvette. "Meaty".

Deeram (sp) was quick on the service too.

Enjoy.

I'm sure I will Ted. I figure that the worse case is that I'd have to replace a couple of springs. And the cheap plastic feel of the shift knob was starting to bother me.
