so is the Quadra-Trac Active On Demand 4WD in the SRT better than the Quadra-Trac II Active Full-Time 4WD in a limited GC?? Wondering b/c as I look into getting an SRT i plan on using it in the winter and need good traction for snow and ice.

Absolutely NOT. The Limited System is much better for snow and other "off road" conditions. The SRTs system was designed to give traction so they can haul ass.

Not so good. Not horrible, but not something I'd want to drive daily.

wondering if it'd be better than my Charger R/T.......

Oh its better then the R/T. I had a 300 SRT8 before the GC SRT8. The C couldn't get through at all. Almost always sideways. At least the GC stays on the road and can move.

I had a Charger R/T w/ R&T and the 20" rims and tires were horrible in the snow.

I bought the Jeep for the AWD. I have not had mine in the snow yet, but it has to be better than the Charger. There are many threads on here about driving one in the snow.

How much snow do you expect to be driving in? I've driven in about 6" () of snow without a problem.

Ask Paulie Pauls "YoungMedic23" for his snow vid.

i live in central PA, so if you've driven in 6" and these guys in Canada can drive in snow, i have no doubts i can. I've driven my R/T for the past 2 winters on Cooper Xeon's and stock crappy conti tires in 3-4 inches unplowed without major problems. I guess taking ESP off in the snow if a common requirement for snow driving, i had the no esp mod on my car and when i got stuck i had to turn esp off and exercise the throttle a little to get going again.

btw i like the SRT badge in your lower valence, nice placement!

The SRT8 is my dailey driver and I get around just about anywhere I want. I live along the northshore of Quebec, Canada where we get a lot of snow here and driving the SRT8 in the snow hasn't been a problem I also have an 06 Dodge Ram Sport and I must say I rarely use it unless there has been a major storm outside. I've posted my winter set up before. Here is the link:

I live in Upstate NY, lots of snow...my first vehicle in the show was a RWD Ford Ranger, and that sucked bad...my next ride was a FWD VW GTI...and that was a little better. Compared to both of them, the Jeep is amazing in the snow!!!

I've had 3 corvettes and my 07 SRT8 Jeep isn't a lot better in the snow. You just have enough traction to chose which corner you mash into. They do very well with the 18" rim/snow tire package, but still not anything close to any other non SRT Grand Cherokee

No problem in the snow at all. I was going to go with a set of rims and winter only tires but after getting around town after 10" storm, I decided to spend that money on other stuff.

Buy a 3,500.00 4 wheel drive and park the jeep for the winter. I have a 99 explorer that i have used for two seasons now. The Jeep Loves it !!!!
