Just got back from handing out a$$ kickings at N.E. Dragway, and finally ran in the 12s after one last fan setting adjustment. Now she launches harder.:D
12.964 @ 105.43mph 63*F.
R/T: .249
60': 1.852
330': 5.345
1/8: 8.289
MPH: 83.31
1000: 10.825
1/4: 12.964
MPH: 105.43

I must have scared away the 2 TBSSs that were there, they only stuck around for a run or 2. I saw one of them run 14.1.
I think its time for some Nitrous and Driveline mods.:D

Congrats!!!

Man I used to own a Chrysler Srt8 and could never hit 12's(13.04 best) and neither could I in my Jeep with bolt ons(13.2 best)

After the blower I completely skipped the 12's lol

BUT I feel like I cheated I would have rather hit 12's NA first but the weather never got better

12's with bolt ons is *****in badass

Meh. ;) Been there, done that. :p

Did you check the corrected times? It could be less.

Congrats -- good times and good MPH.

Talk to Jim383 about launching (tire pressures and more). You might get up to .05 on your 60 foot times.

Corrected times are garbage.....go by what the timeslip says

Corrected times are only good for telling your your Jeep's potential not telling others

It's a great feeling isn't it?

You'll probably get the mod bug and start a similar thread next yr. but talking about breaking 11's, hahahaha

Congrats! I miss N.E. Dragway and the colder temps up north. :( Trying to race in 90-degree humid weather around here is beginning to get discouraging... but it sure does fuel the mod bug!

says the people that correct slower... the point is if you live 20 hours away from me it give a "standard" that and potential...

this could be the reason why everyone else spending 5k+ on the "same vortech" kit are not getting 11's with all else stock...

Corrected times are good to show what you and others would all run at sea level and to compare with each other. It looks like you were running BELOW SEA LEVEL. I DA all my runs and also correct them as this way i have found out my JEEP loves altitudes between 1400-1800 ft and altitudes i can correct to sea level between 2300-2600 ft. With my tune it loves humidity below 50% and the hi temps dont seem to bother it.
As far as launching this has worked for me and my race wt is 5190 lbs.
These are with OEM GY RUN FLATS TIRES.
1-tire pressure/front 40 rear 36 hot.
2-leave at idle with t/c off.
3- with these setting my 60' times run from 1.75 to 1.77 and if i spin the tires for some reason (AT IRWINDALE WE CANT DRIVE AROUND THE WATER BOX SO SOMETIMES WE CANT GET ALL THE WATER OFF THE TIRES) they run 1.79 to 1.81

Congrats on the 12's a big accomplishment now your gonna want a 12.8 then 12.7 and so on it gets crazy from here.

Congratulations to the OP. I am not in the 12's yet and I cant wait until I make it. And you can bet, when I do, I will share with a new thread about it also! What is you next mod gonna be now?, LOL

Well knowing what I know now I think that night at the track you could of IF you guys were fixing the right tune-LOL:D:p

Congrats bro.... I remeber my first time hitting 12's. I was pissed b/c I kept running lower. Started at 13.15 then 13.10 then 13.04 and I decided to do one final run and hit 12.95. It's a good feeling. Throw some more mods on it and keep it going.:rocker:

Congrats to the OP it has to be a good feeling. I my self did a best of 13 flat with the predetor and bwoody and was more pissed than happy b/c it was right there at a 12.99, but it is what it is. :(
Tomorrow I am hoping for better times at HRP :D

So what's the deal with my 60'?

Date 60' 1/4 ET 1/4 MPH ET Corrected :Mods
9/07 1.962 13.54 102.1 --NA- :180 TStat (First drag ever)
9/07 1.939 13.37 102.9 13.08 :180
9/08 1.914 12.94 105.6 12.66 :180, ARH LT, Borla T, Predator 91 tune, TC off
5/09 1.923 12.88 102.6 12.69 :180, ARH LT, Borla T, Predator 91 CAI tune, TC off, 275/315 Michelin Latitudes, BWoody 4" CAI

For years and after mods, I can't get it to improve. Am I missing someting? Jim, do you mash the pedal or ease into in at launch? It feels like I have less traction with the Michelins :(

Help! I want to see some progress on my 9/09 run.

Thanx
Dave

I'm going to guess it's your tires, but they are 275/315 so you should hit at least a 1.8 60'.

Im full throttle off the line from idle. The only thing i can is your running at sea level or minus altitude (below sea level) and there could be moisture on the track. I do no some who have the michelin lat and they dont grip like the gy run flats. SARGE has had good luck with them but hes the only 1 i no that has.
DAVE I SENT YOU A PM ABOUT TALKING ON PHONE.

I also know SilveRT8 (my performance hero) has had good luck with the Michelin Lat's. Those guys must have a secret technique or some tire cleaning trick. ;)

Anyone... anyone...

2XCess..... your problem is your tune. You're running headers with a canned tune. Have you dyno'd it to check your AFR's? You've got about the slowest 60ft. time I've seen in a Jeep. You should be high 1.7's to mid 1.8's. How are you launching? You spinning?

Yea, I believe I spin every time, especially after putting on the BWoody. For launching, I generally just barely preload. Making sure I don't have much distance for the old foot to travel on the last yellow.

No AFR’s yet as the nearest Dyno is a 4 hour drive. But I am concerned that the knock reading is hitting 5-6 at WOT with the Predator 91 CAI canned tune.

So you’re thinking a tune with help the 60’. I’m a little worried that more power will make my traction problem worse. I’ve been planning on an AJ tune once I get my final mods done. (That’s about now) How do you like your RDP tune?

With few bolt ons like yours traction shouldnt be much of an issue... Im wondering if its Tune and the track (maybe you hit the water puddles, maybe its a poor track,)

Last, maybe try to go with different tires for your next set.

When I hit it at the track my rears bark and immediately the transfer case throws power to the front, taking care of any more spinning.

My best 60' is 1.735.... this was with stock goodyears, and I still havent been on a dyno. At the time of that run is was running 4* of st knock retard... but the knock was mostly in the high-end...

I need a dyno tune...:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Went to New England Dragway tonight/last night, ran 12.700@107.5 1.789 60'. If I didn't have 1/2 tank fuel on board I probably could have gone faster. My previous best run was 12.964@105.43 1.852 60'. Since then I replaced Mopar CAI w/Bwoody 4" CAI, Magnaflow w/Borla S, added Bwoody springs, sway bar links and Addco sway bars.
