So after exploring a few options, I have decided to Paint my wheels with a clear cote. I have been to a few shops, and I think the best option is to use a clear cote with a bit of black mixed in to make the wheel look "black chrome". Since their already is a clear cote on the wheel, we are going to scuff the clear so the new clear sticks. Then, mix some black into the clear cote to make the wheel look smoked. We did a trial on another wheel today and it looked really really good. The shop is doing the work this weekend, so I will post pictures after all is done. May turn into a disaster, or maybe will look really good!!

some call it gun metal finish. I would definitely like to see the finished product
Well, here is the story. In order for the clear cote w/ black mixed in to stick, we had to give the wheel a good scuff. After the scuff, we applied 2 cotes of the finish to the wheel. It sounded like a great idea, but it just did not work. The wheel didnt really look black of chrome at all, it almost looked like a light brown. The clear cote must not have stuck to the already clear cote.
So with 2 scuffed wheels, I decided to just paint them all black, with the exception of the center cap we left chrome. I was'nt too sure of all black, but it really does look good. Especially since we used the idea of the wheels for the back lenses, they are very dark now. I will post pics soon.
