: GCSRT8 Vs. Harley F-150

Well, I had cruised past a Harley F-150 (supercharged 5.4 liter, crew cab) when he decided to park himself on my rear bumper. He had an aftermarket hood and exhaust, but there was no telling what he had done under the hood. Those things are stupid-easy to mod, and there would be little to give it away. Anyways, he followed me off one highway onto another with his 2 buddies in the truck with him. After he made a few lunges at me from behind, and the road was clear, I decided to see what he had. From about a 60 punch, I pulled on him steadily up to about 130 when I backed off. After I slowed down to about 50, he pulled up along side and motioned that he wanted to run again. I let him go first, and it was more of the same, except I pulled him even harder from 50. His friends gave me a big thumbs up, but he was less than happy. Go figure. This little Jeep sure is quick being stock. I wonder how quick it'll be with 500hp/tq? Hmmm....

I was wondering how the Jeep did from a roll compared to my old HD.

TXBLU - hook your trailer on and find him again. Then let him know that it will now be a fair run...

After having a conservatively modded '02 Lightning, I thought this guy would be a bit stronger. Oh, well.

I am ordering my Factory Five Racing MkIII Roadster today so I can start picking on Vettes, Porsches, Ferraris, and sport-bikes!!! Not too many people want to play with the SRT. I guess most guys don't think it's really all that quick, so why bother. On the other hand, it seems like every 20-Something with a fart-can exhaust on an import wants to run. It'll be tough to find anything on the street that will hang with a 2000 pound car with 525 horsepower!!!!

Yikes. Let us know how it runs when you get it. I've always wanted one of these. Looks new and improved.

My build date for my roadster is 06/16/07 and it should be delivered a few days after that. I plan on using VERY few, if any, "donor" Mustang parts so it should be close to 100% brand new when it's finished. I plan on using a World Products Windsor-based 427 with 525HP/500TQ and a 5-speed transmission that I have yet to decide on. The rear suspension will use a 3-Link solid axle setup with Bilstien coil-overs, 3.33 gears, and a Traction-Lok diff. The front will have tubular upper and lower control arms, also with Bilsien coil-overs. Not sure about brakes yet, but I'll think of something cool later. The wheels will be 5-lug Hallibrand reproductions with 255/40-17s up front and 315/30-17s in back with gloss black centers and polished rims. It'll have the light silver faced Autometer guages and a black leather interior, whick comes standard with Simpson 5-point harnesses for each side. The frame and driver's side roll bar (no passenger side roll bar will be installed) will be powder coated in gloss black. So far I have yet to decide how to paint the body, and I need to find a killer paint shop to lay it down for me.

Just as a reference, the roadsters built with donor 5-Liter Mustang drivetrains (225HP) run the 1/4 in low 12s with 0-60 times under 4 seconds. Mine should be significantly quicker than that!!!
