Untouchable

A friend of mine had told me of a little "BullRun" being done by a local exotic club. I showed a great deal of interest. He asked me what I drove and I told him. Not surprisingly, he thought I was kidding. He soon realized that I wasnt and wanted a piece of the action.
I pretended to have a "Corvette" and was signed up in no time. The plan was to run to a checkpoint at a non-disclosed location and then rendezvous at point 2 for lunch and storytelling.
I was one of the first cars there and to my surprise another black SRT Jeep rolled up to play. He was a "porsche". The sticker went on the door and it was official, I was doing the run with everything from a 328i to an F40. Normally I dont feel too intimidated by most cars when I am in the Jeep, but as Lamborghini after Lamborghini rolled and and a slew of hooked up 911 turbos and GT2/3s filled up the rear I knew I was in some serious company and need not make too much of a fool out of myself. I figured I'd stick with the Jeep so as to avoid embarrassment.
Once we were told of the destination we all scattered into groups and made our way to the secret location.
I ended up running half the way with a C5 Z06 and a Cayman S. Both care were very quick but the Jeep was able to hand with with them on turns. I had seen is done at the SRT experience but I was still surprised at what the beast could do handling wise.
Later on I ended up rolling quite a ways with an M6, GTR, M3, c6 Z06, and big turbo Supra. Again, the Jeep was able to keep up till about 70 before the other cars started to float away. Nonetheless I was surprised how close I could hang (at least for a little while) with 11-second cars. I did get some great video of the action which I am trying to post up. Once more, the Jeep was able to hang with the cars around turns and what not. I had a sh!t-eating grin on the whole trip.
We ran through Bear Mountain and ended up at Grand Prix in Mount Kisco to go over the experiences from the run and to do some high-speed indoor karting. It was a great time and something I will not soon forget. I cant remember the last time I saw a parking lot like this. At the end of the day the beast was lined up with "exotics" and I got props from several surprised drivers who saw the Jeep run during the day. Some of these guys had asked me earlier that day, "Is the Jeep quick?" Question answered
I have now had the Jeep for over 3 years and it still surprises me. Enjoy the pics.
