Tried some new products. First time using the clay bar. Much easier to use than I expected and GREAT results. Then I went with 3M Final Glaze and finished with Meguiars NXT 2.0 Tech Wax. Turned out awesome. Pics aren't the best, but I thought the reflection of the bike in the paint was kinda cool.

**I am always amazed (in a BAD way) how many defects there are in the paint job on this truck. There are countless dust 'bumps', .... on this thing, like it was sprayed outside on a windy day! Anybody else have lots of flaws in their paint?

clay is great for removing tar and any over spray you may have, its a must before polishing, followed up by a few coats of good wax,

Yup, it still surprises me how much crap a claybar pulls off my jeep or motorcycles.

I cleaned the jeep yesterday and clayed it while I washed then washed once more. I then used meguiars scratch X 2.0 and followed it with meguiars nxt 2.0 tech wax and the jeep is blinging today in the sun! :D

I used clay from my mothers clay bar kit. I washed/rinsed all the panels first to take off surface dirt/grim/etc. Then I hit it again with the wash mit to get the jeep "all lubed up" and then I would clay one panel at a time. I made sure the soap was really foamy and the panel I was attacking was completely covered in soap/water mix. Then I washed the panel again after hitting it with the claybar. It made the process a little easier and quicker than using the quick detailer to lube the panel. I gave this a shot because I saw Wade mention it in a thread. It worked really well. From there I did my 2 step wax mentioned in the earlier post.

When do you ditch the clay bar? I only used one from the kit and it actually still looks pretty good.....

It's a judgement call on when the clay looks too contaminated. I've used my bar on my two bikes a couple of times (not much to remove on them) and twice on the jeep and I threw it out yesterday. I picked up a lot debris this last time....I guess a few road trip, FL summer rain, and FL bugs did in number over almost 3 months!
