WOW is a good choice of words. First time I can say I am drawn to all black. Interior mods look great as well. Very custom but tasteful. WOW again.

agree - the display in the rear-view mirror is very cool looking.

JMO, don't like the painted interior trim pieces. A dark carbonfiber or black chrome would have been better, IMO.

I didn't see the leather on the dash that it talked about. Maybe the pics were taken before the dash was done. The black pieces look cool to me. I like a bit of a pattern myself, but the all black is sweet.

Take another look. The entire front dash top was upolstered in Charcoal leather. LOOKS FANTASTIC!!!

Huh? I don't see that. Just the normal heated seats buttons and air/heat controls.

They are there because if you've ever tried to use them while driving, you'll see you need REALLY skinny hands. They should have been mounted elsewhere from the get-go.

Wow! If I felt like taking the time to make the mods this would be my vision. great work!

i spoke to AI Design awhile back about doing the mirror mod on my G35. they quoted me something ridiculous like $800. it's just the V1 remote display unit that gets mounted in there, you still need to put the detector itself somewhere.
i never followed up with them b/c of the outrageous price

The owner is not asking 45K, that's the first bid and the reserve is not yet met. The 45K is not the "buy it now" price. Who knows what the reserve is. My guess is 50K+.

What do you folks think about the rear fogs and the front license plate mount? I love em but would like to see the fogs lit at night.

Not too much if you ask me. It all depends on whether you want to buy something and mod it yourself, or buy something already modded.

Its one of the best looking out there!! I say $55k is the reserve!:eek: and by the way Im a small guy under 140lbs. and i cant get my hand to reach the set controls with the door closed. The new location is cool.

That is the funny thing about shops or "high-dollar" customers. When they try to sell their project cars.. they want top dollar for every mod and the labor too. They just don't get the "pawn shop prices" mantra. Even for an enthusiast you can usually only get about .50 on the dollar for mods without any labor. Anyway, I only know 1 company that does the mirror mod and I think they want about $500 plus the cost of the remote module, their URL is http://technik1.com/

I think that a GCSRT8 done in the same scheme as the Merc would be just nuts.

Just spoke to Chris at AI design about the work on the jeep +/- getting some of the interior treatments done myself. . .not sure if he wants the numbers thrown out on the internet, but he ballparked the trim (piano black) pieces in the 6-7K range and the headliner at about 6K, he said the truck belongs to a customer and Chris' shop is selling it for him, the owner has put approx. 50K in mods into it and is looking for a selling price around 70K. I also asked Chris if he could look into material and fab for an e-brake cover, I'll post when I know more!

6K for the alcantarra seems a bit on the steep side to me. I did my expedition in it (and the pillars), for about 4K, and that was considerably bigger than the Jeep, but hey-- different dealers in different areas charge differently, right?

Regardless, thanks for posting what you found out. The really did a great job with it.

gotta remember ge2, this is the NY metro area, $$$ is king and nothing comes cheap, the guy did say that the pillars were included in the price and that he color matches ALL components, coat hooks, etc. to match the new headliner, still I'd rather spend the 6k on black 22's!

HAHHAA! Those prices are outrageous! I spoke to my interior guy here in South Jersey, he can do that exact Alcantara treatment (side pillars/headliner) for about $1,000. Materials/labor.

He's also doing my gauge and navi hood AND tops of my side door panels in Carbon Fiber leather like the stock treatments, all for $1550 out the door! :)

I totally understand... everything is more expensive in the big city, but 1/3 more than one of the top west coast shops just seemed high to me. And yes, mine also included all the colormatching.

My headliner and pillars (and colormatching the plastic bits), in the carbon fiber material is running about $1600 (I think that was the breakout for those two..... also having the seat inserts center console, window control plates, and headrests done at the same time), but this carbon fiber material is way inexpensive compared to alcantara.

Mango... JUMP on that. Alcantara for a grand is a steal, for the headliner and pillars.

Do it! He does incredible work. Works mainly on old hot rods, muscle cars, etc. He did the full interior restoration on our 67 427 Corvette:
