: 2010 SRT's will come with 5 year/100k powertrain warranty
ResumeSpeed 08-19-2009, 06:11 PM Auburn Hills -- Chrysler Group LLC said Wednesday that it is dropping its lifetime powertrain warranty in favor of a five-year, 100,000-mile guarantee.
Chrysler spokesman Rick Deneau said the decision was driven by market research that showed consumers prefer warranties with a fixed time period. Powertrain warranties typically cover repair or replacement of transmission and engine parts.
"Basically, the assumption of a lifetime warranty just wasn't that big a deal to consumers," Deneau said.
The 5-year, 100,000-mile warranties will be transferable to new owners if the vehicles are sold before they run out, he said. The previous lifetime warranties were not transferable.
The new warranty program also includes the automaker's SRT and Viper models, which were excluded from the lifetime warranty. But the Sprinter van and the diesel version of the Ram pickup remain excluded, Deneau said.
The change is effective with the start of the 2010 model year. -AP-

06blackbeast 08-19-2009, 08:53 PM So there is a 2010 SRT8? What is it going to look like? Shouldn't it be out already, or very very soon?

I ordered my 2010 SRT8 at the beginning of August and it is supposed to be at the dealership the last week this month or the first week in September. :D
From what I have read it will basically be a carry over from 2009, even though there are "spy" photos of it possibly having a face lift & new rear exhaust outlets integrated into the rear bumper.

The 2011 Jeep is a totally new SUV.
CentralTexHemi 08-19-2009, 10:13 PM so really the 2009 is a better buy as far as options then?

Good luck trying to find a 2009 with option group 1 & 2 in brilliant black. I had a deal all worked out 700 miles away, but when it came time to pay the dealership they located it from 80 miles away told them they were no longer going to trade vehicles (even though the Jeep website was showing the SRT as one of their own vehicles). I was then told "good luck" and to call that dealership and try to make a deal with them. I called, they would take nothing less than MSRP! (50,910 minus the 3,000 in rebates at that time) I said keep it. The car salesman was a ****. I don't use the rear DVD system anyway. I ordered the 2010 for invoice, locally.
2009 MSRP 50910
2010 MSRP 49500
YoungMedic23 08-19-2009, 10:46 PM Sorry but that rear exhaust setup is plain as ever
Same as all the family midsize SUVs rear bumper cut exhaust

isnt 09 like 3 years / 60,000km?
CentralTexHemi 08-20-2009, 08:29 AM I was talking about some of the featurs not so much warranty stuff. I love my remote start

Agreed. It will really kill the jeep's appeal if they go that route...I still have high hopes for the alleged 2012. Side exhaust, while obnoxious, would be even cooler. But the center exit is fine by my standards. I just hope to see hood vents/gills (NOT fender vents/gills barf) in honor of the 5.9. Similar to what is on the 2008 Viper hood. That and the 6.4 + a 6speed auto would be out of this world. I would pay $55-$60 for it no questions asked.

Yes. Or 36k for us US-types. :p
PROBABLE CAUZ 08-20-2009, 10:48 AM so they are going back to the 5yr/100,000. i know when i first got my 300 in 05 thats what they had it might have been 5/50,000 and then the next year i think they went to the lifetime warranty. its just funny how these companies flip flop. oh well what can you do:boohoo:

we can not buy srt8s anymore, that will show em!
No idea why they would make srt8 come with less of a warranty then a regular hemi.
