I've been lurking this forum for a few months now. Yesterday I sold my 2005 Audi S4. Today I flew down to Long Beach, CA from San Jose, CA. Drove the beast back 5 hours home. I still can't get the smile off my face!!! Ugh! Why do I have to work tomorrow..... I just want to spend some time with it. :)

Anyway's, just wanted to say "hello to everyone".

Nice work. And coming from an '05 S4 I have to ask (since I had the twin turbo with mods) How badly would the Jeep blow the Audi's doors off?

Congrats as well and welcome.

Night and day difference! It wouldn't even be a contest. But that Audi sure did handle good!

Very nice, good luck. What that parked next to you, a 442?

It's a 1972 Buick GS Stage1. The SRT8 would take it off the line, but the Stage1 would catch it quickly. Here's a side shot.

HawaiianGroove,

Congrats on the Jeep you'll love it.

I do have one question regarding your choice to get your Jeep in long beach. My friend in New Port has been looking for a reasonably priced GCSRT for over a month now but most dealers are still asking for 5-10K over so I was tempted to have him come up here (SF) because you can still find them for list or in my case a couple of grand under.

If you were able to get a good deal in LB, do you mind my asking which dealer you got it through?

Thanks!

7-

I did find a few 06's in the bay area. One had only 10 miles on it (silver). They wanted 41k. I really wanted an 07. I actually got really lucky. I emailed the dealer regarding an 07 srt, he sent me back an email saying they just sold it. But the sales guy told me that the owner has been driving one and would sell it at a nice discount. It wasn't listed for sale. So when we talked numbers, I just couldn't refuse. I couldn't find another deal like that anywhere. So I jumped on a plane and drove it back. The place I got it was Long Beach Chrysler Jeep in Signal Hill.

I know most of the dealers locally here in San Jose have been asking msrp. There's a new 06 silver in Redwood city, and a used 06 in Roseville silver. Sunnyvale Jeep has a black 07, and Capital Jeep has one also.

Thanks for the info and congrats on what sounds like a sweet deal!

I got my '07 from Serramonte Chrys/Jeep in Daily City for 43K (2k under) and they have another one which is identical to mine. I also think that I simply got a better deal (purchase price vs. trade value, etc.) because I was dealing with the fleet sales guys and most everything was negotiated over the phone. I suspect that I would have gotten screwed if I walked in off the street.

Also, I think I test drove the '06 silver you mentioned, but those guys didn't seem interested enough in my business for me to make a deal on the spot. They've called me 3 times since though

We should set up a NorCal SRT owners meet sometime soon.

The folks in Redwood City didn't want to deal with me either. Oh well, there loss. Yes, we should get a NORCAL meet together. :D
