Hi all,
As a newbie here (I have searched through for information). I'd like to get some feedback from the experienced owners who bought/ordered new...here is the history of my GC SRT8.
1) Original ship date Aug 6
2) Called Aug 7th...Original delivery date Aug 12 at dealer
3) Called Aug 13th..Delivery revised to Aug 14 @ 11.40am (go figure an actual time lol)
4) Called dealer on Aug 17, now they tell me delivery is scheduled for Aug 25
5) I asked what the code was ....they said KZ_L
My question...if delivery is always estimated..how can they give you a delivery day and "time" of arrival at the dealer then change it so drastically to 11 work days later...
Weird how from Aug 13th to Aug 17 (2 actual work days) we went from a delivery day with time to now 11 days later..
The new breakdown for Aug 25 delivery is (On rail car on the 19th, off rail Aug 23, on truck Aug 24, delivery at dealer on the 25)
Thanks in advance

In response to #5, here's all the build codes. You're anxiously awaiting KZX I bet!!! Keep bugging your dealer down the KZ list, but not the damaged one. I wonder if KZOG means Oh God!!!

BG Passed edit N/A for schedule
BGL Edit ok parts unavailable
BX Passed edit available for schedule - The order has been accepted. Until your dealer has an allocation your order is on hold.
C Sub firm – This means the dealer has an allocation for this order.
D Firm schedule – Dealer has allocation and all parts are available. Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is assigned. Waiting for spot in build rotation depending on model/transmission/color. You will be assigned a build "week", a rough estimation of when it will be built.
D1 Gateline schedule – Scheduled to be built and a ship date assigned. The ship date is pretty accurate; it may be a day sooner, or several days later. The actual build time is 38 hours, so subtract from the ship date to determine the build date.

My delivery date was pushed back as well, a couple of times. My dealer is less than 2 hrs from the plant and it took almost a week after it was built for it to arrive.
I know it is hard to wait, but once your Jeep arrives :D.
Thanks Boys..much appreciated... I already had the codes..just found it strange to give a Aug 14 ( last Friday at 11:40 am delivery date..when the damm vehicle hasn't shipped yet...)
Bought it May 5 and it was D status at the time...

I find the dealer doesn't always have the latest information. We used to have contacts at the Brampton Assembly Plant for our LX's who would run all the VIN's and give us the most up to date status. That suddenly ended and the guy was fired for a while. I'm sure if your sales GM wanted to he could easily make a call. Mine did that for me several times, but then again I waited 9 months for my Jeep.

You can call Customer Assistance Center with your VIN and they should be able to give you up-to-date information on your new purchase.
From Chysler's site:
"Tracking a New Vehicle Sales Order
The dealer that placed the order is the best source to contact concerning the order status. They have information available that may answer your questions.
If they cannot, please feel free to contact our Customer Assistance Center at 800-992-1997 for assistance. We have a trained staff of professionals waiting for your call. Please have either the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or the Vehicle Order Number (VON) available so the Customer Service Representative can access the proper information."
