I love my R1 slotted/drilled rotors with hawk pads. A lot less dust and the braking power is definitely much better than the stock stuff. Good priced too.

I am going to go with the R1 concepts x-drilled & slotted, and the Hawk LTS pads. The LTS are new, but takling to a Stillen rep, they are the best for low dust, good performance, and no squealing. I really want the low dust as I am sick of the stock pads ... and needing to wipe down the wheels after 30min of driving.

Just go R1 rotors with stock pads up front and cts-v pads in the rear. You will keep all the stopping power and get rid of the squeel. The dusting will be minimized because the slots/holes in the rotors will vent it better than stock rotors.

I have a set of SS brake lines that I plan on installing this weekend. SS lines are always good because they firm up the pedal feel.

If you want them Zach at mastersupply can do a set for you. Although you either need to send him your stock lines or buy new/used lines so he can use the fittings. I think I paid $100 for the SS lines $12.50 for shipping and I bought Jhriss's stock lines for $100. Not too bad....zach can do the lines in almost any color too.

I believe most have bought them from ebay. They are Akenobo CTS-V pads. Let me search and find out, I know there were numerous threads with all the info. I want to say they are only $80 bucks compared to the stock brembo pads that are $200+

*****edit: Found them.....

gmpartsdirect.com for OEM CTS-V rear pads

or TireRack.com for Akebono Euro Ceramic CTS-V rear pads.

We also have LTS pads available if thats what you looking for. PM me if you have any questions.

My Premium blanks each weighs in at: 28lbs front, and 24lbs rears. I haven't got the chance to weigh the rotors after the drilling but since you asked. I will message you shortly on the results but I am pretty sure they will be a bit lighter than what they weighted at stock.

Thanks
Steven

I've used R1 crossdrill/slotted rotors on every one of my cars to date. Never had a problem with any of them (except the time they shipped the wrong ones......cheap shot i know)

One day I'll get them on the GC, but jesus everything for these trucks is absurdly overpriced in comparison to other performance vehicles. (not knocking you R1 guys, just sayin)

I run them on my wrangler, my mark viii, had them on my navigator and my explorer

Thanks Steven but my question was really about your R1 drilled/slotted rotors vs the stock Jeep ones that came from the factory. I would like to reduce the unsprung weight on my Jeep when buying new ones.

You can pm me the answer, but i'm curious as to the cost for the front and rears. (crossdrilled/slotted) I noticed that trinet has them on ebay for $300 shipped all 4 rotors
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JEEP-GRAND-CHEROKEE-SRT8-6-1-06-07-F-R-D-S-Brake-Rotors_W0QQitemZ170368780507QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMot ors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item27aac548d b&_trksid=p4506.c0.m245

If I recall correctly, the R1 units were like $800 or so for all 4. Whats the difference?

Well, just something to note, but R1 has an ebay rating of 29,648 at the moment. So, I wouldn't call ebay rotors cheap and unheard of. Thats where I found R1 in the first place.

DBA makes some incredible rotors. Pretty sure they had stock(non srt) last time I checked. I went with centric for the really low cost, they are machined beautifully and coated.

Akebono's, again on my hemi wk, are really nice. seems like a low dust compound.

Trinet rotors are not the same casting materials as my Premium series rotors. I am not sure if there rotors even has rating. There rotors are a bit more comparable to my E-line series which is my standard base rotors. I do sell my E-line series rotors for about the same price as they do. My E-line series rotors are made with a cast iron rating of g3000 (standard) and comes with a silver zinc finish too. My Premiums are g3500, so it is definitely a step up from the rest and comes with a E-coat rust protection coating on the hub and inner vane structures. R1 Concepts offers a one year warranty on warping and cracking.

I have groupbuy price for all members here. Its $500 shipped for my Premium series rotors.

If you guys need pricing for any other vehicle besides Cherokees, pm me. I have it all and will shoot you a discounted price.

Well, considering your Cherokee is no light weight. I would prefer to have as much metal surface as possible to withstand the stress (heat) being created during hard driving. I will pm you once I get the weight of the GM rotors.

R1 rotors crossed drilled and slotted go for about $599.00 plus shipping.

Yes, Ebay is a good selling tool every company should use. It opens our market to wider audience. However, know who you are buying it from (check feedback, history, sellers ratings etc.) before you purchase anything from Ebay. There are all kinds of sellers on Ebay, so just be careful.
