Hey Guys,
Ive decided to create a tally/survey thread on exactly who has the wheel shimmy in our Jeep SRT8'S

So please, follow suit and detail the year, last time you had the tires aligned/balanced, and when exactly the shimmy occurs.

Ill start off...
Year: 2006
Mileage: 48K
Last time balanced/aligned: 2 weeks ago
Shimmy occurs: from 70ish (really bad @ 75), then dissapears @ 80 and above....

Other notes: I thought that it would be the fact that my front 2 tires were out of alignment and needed to wear "evenly", but the shimmy hasnt gotten any better; its so bad @ 75 that my passenger seat actually shakes...

You should have voiced your concern to the SRT Engineers the past few times they had the SRT Q&A session available. I was the only one. Hopefully they release the TSB to us too, 2005-2009 WK SRT8s, not just the 2005 WH/Export models.

Both Jose and I posted about the vibration too and they just responded to both of us with see post XXXX (whatever post they responded to yours) I'm done with Chrysler and their ****ty dealers.

Year:2006
Mileage:purchased at 36k and now has 47k and the shimmy has been there since day 1 and with each thing I try it gets worse then better then worse then better then way worse now the best since day 1!!!
Balanced tires 3 times/2 alignments/2 different dealers looked it over and fixed nothing and sent me on my way/etc
Currently the vib's are not too bad right around 75mph +/- 3mph

What really sucks is that I usually like to cruise at 70-73 mph in a 65 mph zone. But I have to go either slower or faster to avoid the "shimmy" and I'm not going slower. :(

They those engineers did not help at all with there response. My vibration is still there but not as bad as before, but I am not going to dish out $1k on another brand of tires right now.

I have the shimmy but its weird.....The only realy time it's bad is after the Jeep sits in the sun all day at work. The first couple of miles on the expressway and its shakin bad, after a couple of miles it seems to go away or be 1000% more tolerable. I'm hoping to get in this weekend for them to recheck the tire balance and alignment.

^ That's just the tires being cold needing to warm up.

07 25000 miles never had the wheel shimmy get tires rebalanced every 5000 miles free and align every yr. We reset the camber from -3/4 to -1/4 to see if this helps the tire wear problem on the inside rib on the oem runflats so far so good.

Interesting that you haven't experienced it yet. My Beast is practically brand new and it does it.

If people could add their build date, that would be helpful too.
