How much should my first oil change cost at a Chrysler/Jeep dealer? I have 2300 miles on my SRT and the"Oil Change Required" message came up...Is that normal? Thanks in advance...

Yes it's normal, especially if driven hard. If you drive it easy and do mainly highway driving, you can push 5k-6k miles. City driving and beating on it, then every 3k or so miles.

Cost varies. Since you're asking, go to AutoZone or PepBoys and pick up some oil and a filter. We need 7 qts. Make sure it drains completely. Labor should be between $10-$20. Oil is around $6/qt and the filter is $8-$12 unless you get it on sale. The dealership charges retail plus mark-up.

If you're in NYC, go to Westbury Jeep.

Yup, thats about when mine came up, and I had it changed at 2900 miles. Now at 5640, its showing up again, so that must mean I am driving it hard or something :p

I went for an oil change and filter at this local place, and they charged me $115 for it all, but the only reason I went there was because I had a 50% coupon, so it was just under $60 :D

At a dealership, without bringing your own stuff, it's between $60-$100, depending on location.

Your better off buying your oil at walmart in a 5 gal can then get 2 qts to go with it and chrysler sends out specials on oil changes. I just got mine done with a special for 18.00 buxs and they supplied the filter and i supplied the oil.

Do it yourself, it takes 20 minutes. Warm her up first so the all the oil drains, wear gloves so you dont get burned.

Currently, mobil 1 0/40 runs about 7-8 bucks a quart. I personally wouldn't piss away the money on the mobil 1 filter myself. But i have quite a few customers that have srt8's at my place and it runs them about $85 plus tax

why you smiling? you still got ripped off... haha... totally just kiddn bro... :)

60 is a great deal for someone else to do it for ya

but im a firm believer of doing oil changes myself...even if a shop was able to do it cheaper than a do it yourself job i would still do it myself... its just so easy and a do it yourself job enables the oil to be drained outta that pan entirely... plus i know whats going into the jeep as well...

advanced autoparts always has great deals... think i got the 7qts of mobil 1 and a filter for 40-43 bucks last time...

SAMs doesn't carry 0/40, which would lead me to believe walmart wouldn't either seeing
as they carry the same oil products. And I've never seen 0/40 in a 5 gal jug
