I have the Nav unit from a 2005 300C in my GC SRT8 right now. I sent my original unit out to be altered by Tv and Nav 2 go and have not reinstalled it yet. The 300C Nav unit even has "Jeep" on the screen when the key is turned on. Both my 300C anf GC SRT8 Nav units have identical part numbers. These units seem to be designed to go anywhere in the Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep world. The Uconnect is an option, it will not cause a problem, you just will not have Uconnect.

If your 2006 SRT8 has the Uconnect option and you plug in a 2005 NAV unit the Uconnect should work.

If your 2006 SRT8 does not have Uconnect then you will not not have Uconnect after you plug in your 2005 Nav unit.

If your 2006 SRT8 does not have Uconnect and you want it, it can be added by the dealer at any time. They have a Uconnect version for installation by the Dealer or you can by it from Wyckoff Chrysler. Just use this link.
