I posted a smiliar question in the troublshooting area, but I haven't gotten much feedback, so here is my problem: sometimes when cruising at a low speed (approx 20 mph) and the throttle is touched, when the revs drop back down there will be a brief grinding sound coming from the rear area of the car. this noise is rare, but it does happen...could it be the rear diff or possibly exhaust rubbing on something? input is appreciated!

um, thanks, but the one link that worked didnt really address the particular problem im having. my problem is just a momentary grinding sound upon deceleration under certain conditions..anyone know what it could mean?
Try a search. I know there have been several owners w/driveline noises. Several of the noises being either transfer case related w/traction control off or rear diff peoblems. I think some rear dif noise was reduced w/the use of a premium synthetic gear lube change. I don't have the noise(yet) so I can't be much help. IMO don't let it go to long w/o taking it to your dealer.

As stated, this has been discussed IN GREAT DETAIL and someone even asked about it during the SRT Engineer chat session.

SEARCH!Can you find a single post in which his issue was discussed? This is the first post I have read from anyone having a driveline noise issue upon deceleration...
Search nazi's: READ posts more carefully...

Ok, I stand corrected. I assumed the previous dozen or so threads about driveline noise discussed deceleration.
I am a search nazi, becuase there is a REDICULOUS amount of repeat threads on this forum from single post users asking the SAME QUESTION over and over.
