Well, unfortunately my mygig started acted up on me.
When i start the car, it turns on for about 30 seconds and then the screen goes blank, music is still playing for a couple more seconds, but then it stops and it starts to reboot.
This process will happen anywhere between 2 and 20 times, and then it will be fine until the next time i turn on the vehicle.
i also tried to update it, but that wont start, but that may be more of an issue with how i am burning it
i saw some people with these issues, but no solutions, so any help apppreciated

Can't say I know what the problem is, but hopefully if you can do the update it'll work out.
I suspect the reason the update won't start is because you don't have the file structure right. This is what you should see in your burn project:
BECKER (folder - 459MB)
CD_INFO.CDI (file - 2kb)
CONFIG.CDI (file - 2kb)
The two files are what's needed to start the update. Make sure to label the disc properly, i.e.: RER_2.042 as well.

i will be heading to a dealer on monday if i cant figure it out.... i just like to fix stuff myself
as for the file structure, it is correct.... i think it was more of a burning issue, because after i burned the CD i was having issues reading it with a regular computer.... i was also burning at a high speed.... so im burning at a low speed now and we'll see.... thanks for the input guys

This is kind of semi-related and more specific to 2009's, but there was a Rapid Response Transmittal that came out a few months ago for freezing issues with MyGig RER's - http://www.wkjeeps.com/misc/LX/TSB/Rapid_Response_09018.pdf.
The update is meant for all RER's anyway. In any case the dealer will probably start with an upgrade and go from there. No idea if they'll have the latest version available though. Regardless, at least it's covered under warranty though! Good luck!

My mygig was acting up a few months ago.... It would power up but half the buttons on the screen were missing, and nothing worked.
I was going to hit the dealer, but with the Allgig box installed I didn't want to take the dash apart 'again' to take that out... Dealer may blame it somehow.
So I decided to try pulling the fuse for 20min, and it came back up perfectly.
Its underhood in the Integrated Power Module (http://www.wkjeeps.com/wk_fuses.htm)
The only way to reboot the mygig is either pull the fuse, or the battery cable... fuse is easier.
Try that first before the dealer.

Good to hear! Keep us updated. You shouldn't have needed a DVD though. Could very well have been a bad burn or you didn't close the CD. What version did you update to?

Completely agree with you on that! Pulling the fuse is much safer too. There was a caution earlier this year that disconnecting the battery could render the MyGig on REN's inopperatable if the fuse wasn't pulled first. I'd imagine that applies to RER's as well.
