I did a search and did not find the answer. is it mopar only? is it dexcool? is it??? I need to add a bit.

the orange kind :)... i wouldnt doubt them saying its "mopar" but i dont think it would be a big deal to put any ORANGE in it...

According to Post #4 in that link and others you can run Zerex G-05 which is equivalent to the factory coolant and you can get at the auto parts.

i guess bottom line, if you are going to "top off" i would put factory in it... if i were going to do a flush i would put anything in it...

ive seen people run the same coolant for 200,000 miles and ive also seen people just throw anything in cars...


i guess if the price is similar get the mopar, but if it is 3x as much i would do much more research...

I only had to top mine off from that thread. Haven't had to add any since.
And I have plenty of extra in the jug still. So the extra cost isn't too bad if you are only topping off.

As stated it the other thread, Zerex G-05 is the Factory Fill. With all the goings on at Mopar since the Bankruptcy, there might be something "like" it in the Mopar bottle these days. To be sure, go to CarQuest (or another "good" parts store) and ask them to get you some Zerex G-05, CarQuest has it in their warehouse or can get it from their local Valvoline distributor. It's the only way to be sure.....

Well I must've made a mistake than, I just put some 50/50 in it that I bought at the store, I don't recall what brand, but I don't think it was Zerex. Maybe Prestone??

Would it be a good idea to empty and put some of the g-05 in it?

Depends on how much. 50/50 is okay though as long as it was with distilled water and/or Zerex G-05. Nothing else (besides Mopar HOAT)!
