Hi guys,

Currently I lease a jeep SRT8 2008 and my lease will expire in June next year. I just start wondering what is next so I have a lot of questions...

So here are my options:
a) install a supercharger Vortech.
Does anyone recommend this upgrade or does not?
Anybody in the Denver (CO) with one installed?
How much is it to install it?
I'm sure not but can I install a supercharger on a leased car?

Next one :-)
b) I can buy the car right now for 30k.
Do you think it's a good deal?
Do you guys think I can sell it for that price or more in 11 months?
What about a car with a supercharger, would I be able to sell it for more than 35k?

Actually I have about 12k miles and I will have probably 22-25k miles next year.

Thanks in advance for your advice,
Nic

You "could" install a supercharger on a leased car as long as you would return it to stock before turning it in by next June. I wouldn't recomend you getting the Jeep serviced at the same dealer you would be turning it in at though.

totally agree with 1BAMFR.

vortech is currently the way to go and best for $ kit.

there are many topics here about Vortech if you wish to further study the subject.

Ummm definitley DONT install the supercharger unless you plan on BUYING the Jeep outright. Im no lawyer, but Im sure if you got caught, you could be in some SERIOUS doo-doo! Look into that one legally first I'd suggest, Im sure the dealership (probably any in their right mind) have a clause or something against that kind of thing, certainly frowned upon :( Im sure you could gt away with minor interior mods (stereo etc) but something major like a VORTECH will put MAJOR wear on the Jeep and as you know, when you lease, you DO NOT OWN! So if they found out, you may be liable for all the wear and tear or future failure of the motor. A Vortech at like 5-6psi will last for some time on the motor safely, but the drivetrain will definitely take a beating and need replacement down the line. I just cant see any safe way of throwing a BLOWER on a LEASED CAR? Maybe its just me?

Anyway, the deal is a good one even though at this point you're out $. LEasing is never a good idea if you have any thoughts of keeping the car. Its mainly just an extended rental and if you happen to want to keep it, the dealer stick it up your rear big time!!! So at this point go for it if you really want to keep and mod it. Otherwise cut your losses and get something else. GL either route you go.

OH BTW - if you BUY this Vortech slap it on and decide to let the car go in less than a year, you're out about $6k (or whatever the Vortech costs) UNLESS you buy another Jeep SRT8!
Something to keep in mind, lotta $ for just a few months use, no?

Guess that answers your question, you want a Vortech, YOU NEED TO BUY THE JEEP lol.

Lol :D but I would not suggest it either. I also lease my Jeep and I know they are not too pleased with customers modifying their vehicles, and especially not to the engine.

yo!, you're in Denver man? where ya been hiding at? lol nice to know we got yet another brother in the fam. i don't have a vortech (or my Jeep, right now, for that matter), but i know there are atleast a couple guys on here (Keoni being one obviously and Paul being another) that have got AWESOME results from it....and trust me, being out here in CO....it'll definitely help out BIG time. ;) If you need help finding a place to get it done let me know.

buy for 30K may be a good option since you were the original owner (you know what kind of miles those were that were put on and you'll have peace of mind knowing that) even though you may be able to find one for a tad less. that said, it shouldn't matter bout the lease so much. as for resale, dont expect it to be over 35K (IMO)

I would say go for it and slap the vortech on it. After you feel the jeeps new power you won't want to let it go at the end of your lease. As for the gray area of the modded lease vehicle. It's no different than people having engine problems and putting their stock tunes back on before they have it towed to the dealership.

I feel that once you install a pcm tune, tcm tune, or power adder. You lost your warranty rights.

So to sum it up. Once you open the flood gates, be prepared to start replacing parts out of pocket.

Thanks for all you advice guys!
So I have decided and finally I will brought the car next week. This car is so awesome I gonna keep it. And today I did order a complete Vortech supercharger. I founded a supercharger on ebay for $3000 and it was use just 3 months. The guy just didn't like the amount of power. I'm sure I will like it. ;-))
And yes I leave in Denver (Highlands Ranch), veyronSRT8 do you recommand any places to install that supercharger?

I'm in Denver (NW - in the highalnds) and I know of two places with Vortech experience on multiple SRT8's that I plan on getting my future vortech installed at...(no Jeeps, but lots of chargers and challenger installs) but they are also authorized dealers and both locations have a access to a dyno (one in Denver the other in Colorado Springs). After the MHP CMR / TCM install later this week the F/I is my next power mod. Give me a ring or PM

Install rates average $1000 - $1200 for the kit + custom dyno tune.

I think it would be cheaper to get out of the lease and buy a another used JGCSRT8, just my 2 cents! Either way you NEED F/I at 5000 ft above sea level, damn this altitude!!!!
