Are those hoods over the instument binnacles what everybody is looking for from the Euro models?

That is part of it. The tops and bottoms (the center is still plastic) are also covered in leather on all 4 doors, along with the e-brake lever.

Too bad we can't have them. Has anyone wrapped theirs in leather (thte dash and door sides)?

You know I kinda like my 07 - I know there is a lot of plastic but I like the metal - it seems to go with the vehicle - there are so many pseudo woods and leathers out there. Those seats don't appear to have the SRT logo - maybe I just can't see them at that angle

My dash humps are at the upholster currently having the leather applied. I will see how they turn out before I send in the interior door skins.

Yes, I have recovered my door tops, and like Bill am also redoing the dash humps (though mine are not being done in fabric) and the center cluster (all in carbon fiber hydrographics).

No-- it isn't, but the leather appointments are the same as the export SRT.

Ive done the bezel on the tachometer and my nav portion is at my interior guy being done right now, it is leather carbon fiber the same pattern as is on the steering wheel or as close as you will find to it. If anyone is interested let me know ill get a great price for you.

I agree, but I'd love to see someone do billet pieces to replace the stock cheezy looking metals.

Heh heh.....he said humps:)
Seriously though, that is a pic of the Overland interior from Europe. I have found a dealer here in Madrid that has a specific SRT tech. The guy is mainly for Vipers, but at least he is trained. When I go to the service department on Saturday I will check prices and availability for the hoods and Euro tailights. If it is reasonable I may buy and ship them out to a very limited number of people. I am getting soooo ahead of myself here as I don't even have a delivery date until Sept, but as a genuine car nut I will probably have and exhaust, intake, Ipod kit, head unit/speakers/sub/amps, and a custom set of DPE wheels wating for the truck when it comes off the boat.

fellas i've gotta say...these things are great...most fun i've ever had behind the wheel...but they are what they are...the interior doesn't even come close to it's predecessor's. i think that w/ the euro inserts it will bring more attn. to the fact that everything else is hard plastic. bottom line the new m3 pics look pretty good!

Disagree completely. This new iteration is the first model since the inception of the M3 that I have no interest in owning.

I have owned all 3 generations of the M3 (1988 M3 Evo II, 1995 Euro-spec M3sedan and 2004 M3 SMG II) I don't agree/disagree with you, but I wondered why you are not feeling the new one. Have you seen the Essen pics? Carbon roof, N/A 415 HP DOHC V8, 6 spd, elec. diff. What's not to like? Except for the fact that BMW can't seem to break the "don't buy first year production" curse that saw 70% of 2002 MY M3 recalled I think it looks fantastic.

On another note, I have a hold on a week 2 production of the MY 2008 GC and wondered if anyone has seen any car show pics or press releases regarding interior/exterior changes?

It's just a personal preference thing with the look. I currently own an e30, an e36 (non-m's) and just sold my e46 m3. The e46, imo is the last of the beautiful 3 series bmws. But I understand those who say they love it.

Interesting point. I fully agree about the beauty part. I currently have a 2005 330i ZHP (KW's, CSL wheels, audio system, AA supercharger). I agree that the E46 is the last of the beautiful BMW's. My wife drives a 2006 530 and as much as I go down to the garage and look at it while smoking or polishing the beast, it just isn't pretty.
