Just got back from a 2775 mile trip. Computer in jeep said I averaged 16.6. Kept all my gas receits and used 144.6 gal. Divide that into 2775 and you get 19.19. What do you think? I'd love to believe the 19.19 it's just hard to swallow. Also ran it down to 0 miles to emty and put in 17.003 gal. Anybody else with similar experiense?

Yeah just about 17 is all I get mine to fill up.

Most i've had it to was 17.1 mpg, but i'd love to believe you had it to 19.19..

did you count the last fill up? :)

Gallons into miles driven dont lie as thats the only way to do it.

unless you forgot a tank of gas, added wrong, or didnt set your odometer at the right time...

honestly ive done mine at least 4 times (i drive the 1000 mile trip back to my parents A LOT) and its been within .1-.2mpg every time...

and for the record as stated above the best ive seen has been 18.2 driving very nice and decently slow... unless you averaged around 55-60mph i would put $100 on you not getting 19.2mpg...

and i have also seen where pumps will be off (department of weight and measures checks them)... something is off when it usually takes a car 12gallons to fill up then on a certain road that has all the same brand it takes like 13-14...

how fast were you driving? and what kind of air temperatures were you driving in? Was it all flat terrain driving? There are a lot of variables. I got 15.8 on 330 miles at about 80mph in 90 degree heat, driving into a lower elevation. On the way back, I got 14.3 driving at least 85 and for a while more into the 90+range uphill back home. And I hit 0 left to empty and put in 17.59 gallons. I was quite nervous:eek:
