I am looking at the SRT8 to be my next vehicle. I am debating between the SRT8 and a new Silverado. I have been a truck guy, but like the sound of the power behind the Jeep.


What problems/bugs should I expect from the Jeep. I've been digging through old post and found the 70-80 mph shake. Is that occuring on most Jeeps, or more of an isolated problem. Also, heard about the brake issue, but not sure what it is exactly though. If I go the route of a Jeep I will have to buy used, and wont have extra cash to be throwing into fixing breakdowns. I know every car has its issues, but since the SRT8 is more of a high performance vehicle, is it more problem prone?

You will get the brake squeal issue but can be easily fixed by replacing the pads/rotors

Sometimes they shake at 80

I have an 07' with 24,000 miles and have had no problems except the Transfer case, but thats from drag racing it all the time

I agree! I have an 07 and I cant think of any problems i have had.......except speeding tickets...hmmmm
