I have my SRT-8 for about 3 weeks now. I have been looking into different oil options myself as I plan to change my own oil at 1500 miles. Seems that Chrysler has a mandate that the oil carries an API of SM and must meet MS 10725. Seems that only Mobil 1 0w40 has these right now. If you are looking into a 5w40( which is allowed) that combo seems hard to find. Seems that most other 5w40 are thicker 40wt oils than M1 and may decrease fuel even more. Some excellent reading on oil is at The Oil Drop.com or BOBISTHEOILGUY.com.

Bang for the buck seems to be sticking w/ M1 0w40 and changing it frequently 3-6 k. Regards!!!

Check out your oil temp.......oil pressure .......and how quiet the motor gets when you switch to Mobil1 15/50.........the first #w15 is cold pourability which is measured at 47 or 37 below...........50 is the viscosity properties at 200 degrees.......between 40 and 50 I doubt you need to worry about the Emirates getting pissed off at you.
