I have read some comments about other model years are faster/quicker than other years.
2006 - 2007 - 2008 - 2009

Is there any truth to this or is it just owner opinions?
If all models came with the same engine then they should perform the same stock right? :confused:

i would think that 2006-2007 would be fastest just cause they come with less options which equates to less wieght :p......but i think that the saving is so insignificant that it doesnt matter that much, i doubt that any year is faster than the other but i do think some trucks will run stronger than the other due to the harmony between the components, for instance stock my jeep put down 347awhp while a friends jeep with intake exhaust and a tune put down 345awhp........his is a 2008 and mine is a 2007 but another guy put down a 345awhp in his stock 2008 too......so i think it goes by jeep and build rather than the year............have u ever heard the saying never buy a car built on a monday :P

The 2008 model year is the official Reference Standard (Norme de référence overseas) for all Grand Cherokee SRT8 model years.

2007 black is the fastest fully loaded

Black 08's are the fastest, the dark interior will gain you a 10th, LOL

i think i read somewhere that the black 07 srt8's are the fastest with about 22,000 miles on it...:D

i hear 05 Laredos are real sleepers, they put down a factory rated 200hp to the wheels but i think Jeep underestimated it, its more like 2000hp the way it takes off when you bury the go pedal ;) Def the fastest of the Jeeps

Well being BONE STOCK the RACE WT and ALTITUDE has a lot to do with the outcome. The 09 are 56 lbs and 08 are 31 lbs lighter in body wt than the 06/07 not counting the driver. Ill list mine as BONE STOCK, RACE WT, and ALTITUDE.
MODS...........BONE STOCK
RACE WT......5190 LBS
ALTITUDE.....1285 FT
ET...............8.390
MPH.............81.72

Sorry tu burst your bubbles, but as per the official JEEP WK site, my '06 is still the "official" fastest stock Jeep at 13.02 sec.
I know some may have beaten this time since '06, but I dont see it listed. LOL

Ive only gone 2 07's, and got 'em stock. They both went and got cat backs- borla s and corsa, and I went and got a 4" bwoody and cmr. We went again and I WAXED them. Cant comment on the 06's my friends but at 3300 ASL, the '08 is batting 1000 against all.

Agreed, that list dates back to 2007 , and my 13.02 was considered to be a Factory Freak. But stock was no tune or intake, just as it came from the factory. Did you test yours before mods?
