Has any one tried to remove the stock resinator from the stock system with just straight pipes, but left the stock mufflers in place?

I think someone has, but FYI the single big "thing" toward the front of the jeep is the muffler and the two smaller "things" on each side at the rear are the resonators.

I have removed it in waiting for my B&B and it sounds good but lost a lot of bottom end. I would spend the money and get a true cat back

Any loss of bottom end when you pop those e-cutouts open?

Hard to say its very close but perhaps its does hurt the lower speed. On the freeway though is another story.

When I installed the b&b, I ran the car in the garage with no exhaust attached.

I removed the resonator's and didn't notice any change in the performance(contrary to a certain claim of a 16hp gain). Alot louder though, especially with the DUB cai.

A lot louder as in cabin drone? Or a lot louder as in more bark outside?

not much drone and mildly louder. The mid muffler does most of the baffling.
