Today I took the family to Byron dragway in Il. Got two runs in. I ran hot off the street with no battery disconnect. (does that work?) first run 13.529 @ 101.07. We let the jeep cool and my wife runs (first time ever) a 13.435 @ 101.26. She even beat me on the tree, not bad for her first time. She may have even liked it. It was funny watching her in line because she had to wait a while so she read her book in front of the jeep as all the guys talked to each other. She is a real girlie girl too. I was a bit disappointed in the times since I am not stock. Temp was low 80's. How do I correct the time?

Looks like you and the wife had some fun. It is always more fun when you can get the significant other into your hobbies.

Seriously, I wish MY wife would jump in the driver seat. I would LOVE to watch her go down the track. I never get to see or hear my truck from the outside in person. Video doesn't do justice.

Well dman, your times are not the fastest, thats for sure, important thing is, you had fun. I was at the track also today, and ran mostly 13.3's and one 13.23:D, ----jeep is stock---

Guys you have to remember the 2 most important things in ET & MPH IS ALTITUDE & RACE WT no matter what mods & tune you have. The race wt you can handel but altitude thats a diff ball game.

Definately picked the worst part of the year to go racing .... Byron is a good track though.. I stay at Cordova mostly but it's always a good time making the short trip up to Byron. :)

Running hot in the heat, yeah, sounds about right. How long did you let it cool off for? Try the "fan mod" next time.

On the first run I allowed only a few minutes to sit after the drive to the track. Oil temp was about 210. The second run was made after cooling bit, but I am not sure of the temp since my wife was driving. Should I have disconnected the battery? I am disappointed in the times, but it was fun. I will go again in the fall, probably to Great Lakes. What can I do to the fans? Is this something I can do with the Diablo?

Time to get rid of the kids so you can start modding.

did I mention I also had two car seats in at the time my wife smoked a Mustang? I wouldn't trade my kids for anything short of a Vortech. Kidding of course. The kids 4 and 3 had fun. It was a bit loud for my little guy, but he still had fun.

Im surprised on those numbers too. I raced my srt and got 13.3 and mine was totally stock....Its weird that you have some mods and you ran slower than me.. ?????

Well...FWIW with the DA I grabbed (which may not be accurate as I don't know what time he ran that night...

His 13.4 pass corrects to 13.009 @ 104.65 MPH.
His 13.5 pass corrects to 13.1 @ 104.454 MPH.

It's possible that the DA was higher than I have though... OP what time did you make your passes? can you post the slips?

The 13.42 pass corrected to 13.04. These were the first runs with the Jeep and I had no chance to experiment with launches and without proper cool downs. We had fun. Which is all that counts.
