: Ordering one from out of state

I am curious if anyone ordered your SRT8 from out of state and had it drop shipped at your nearest dealership. I am a bit apprehensive about doing this since who knows how the local dealership would treat me since I didn't buy the car there. Or should I not be concerned since they are all part of Jeep dealership and PDI is done outside of sales team. What are my other options? I guess I can fly down and drive it back or have that dealership ship it to me after PDI...

Thanks!

Hey sbkim - welcome. Fly down and drive it back. Not only would it be great fun but you would know the first few miles are your own. Let's face it you are only going to go to work and worry about how your new car is being driven:D

As far as dealers are concerned reports on this forum show that very few of the Jeep dealers understand the SRT anyway so I don't think its going to make much difference. You are going to love this vehicle:eek:

Congrats!! I presume you are paying extra for shipping to TX? I wasn't sure if they (Jeep) can drop ship to the nearest dealer without incurring additional shipping charges.

Oddly, I only live few miles away from Champion Jeep but I am getting a good deal from another dealership.

Also, can anyone recommend decent Jeep dealership in northern NJ - around the Short Hills area.

TIA!

LOL - you are absolutely right! I could use the drive but would like to avoid a 13hr to drive if I could.

I bought mine in Utah and drove it back to Colorado, was 8 hours away but worth the time. A friend of mine had his '07 Corvette C6 drop shipped here and I think they charged him around $250 for PDI. I would say fly and drive back, I thought about having the dealership ship it but didn't want anyone touching or towing my Jeep.

I bought mine from Georgetown Jeep in Norwalk CT (about 1 hour from the George Washington Bridge with no traffic) and not that far from you. They had a silver 2007 Jeep SRT8 on the lot last week. The salesperson to talk to is Mark Albertson. If you call him - tell him Matt sent you. He took a $1,000 deposit and held the very first one they received for me back in Jan 2006. You will love this Jeep. If you come up this way and want a ride to check it out PM me.

Matt - thanks for the info! I may take you up on that offer one of these days. I am due to relocate to Norther NJ in a few months - hopefully with the new Jeep.
