Mango 03-01-2007, 05:51 AM Why did he mount the turbo in that location, and what is that box that sticks out next to it?
Juggernaught 03-01-2007, 06:25 AM Not to get off topic, but the "orange peel" in the paint on that fender is terrible. I'm glad that my Jeep isn't that bad, it's silver. How many others have orange peel that bad? Is it worse with black and this color shows the orange peel more?
SilverSRT8 03-01-2007, 06:57 AM That box next to the turbo is the turbo's oil reservoir.
Dr.Steve 03-01-2007, 07:55 AM I still think it's amazing that 28K only gets you 0.32 sec faster in the 1/4 than what InfernoSRT8 has accomplished with "bolt-ons". . . and that it takes 19sec to go from 100 to 150. . . also, can hennessey ever finish a magazine testing session without frying something???????????
gerry_miranda 03-01-2007, 09:04 AM Why did he mount the turbo in that location, and what is that box that sticks out next to it?
Because Hennessey put in a Squires Turbo...

maxxjeep 03-01-2007, 10:13 AM That is an amazing machine; however, you can't have fun with a fried tranny.
For the skrilla, I think that the available bolt on parts reign supreme. 5 grand and get everything you can opposed to the 28 or whatever it was.
AlexT 03-01-2007, 11:01 AM can hennessey ever finish a magazine testing session without frying something???????????
No.
Alex
Dr.Steve 03-01-2007, 11:26 AM hehe. . thanks alex
split2112 03-01-2007, 12:37 PM i swapped out the orange turn signals to avoid the orange peel
ccbatson 03-01-2007, 05:22 PM That orange peel can't be from the factory, can it?
ronald mcglothlin 03-04-2007, 03:25 PM Ok read the artical and 620 hp is nice, but where the turbo is and the air intake makes it totally unusable. Spend nearly 30,000 dollars for something that driving through a mud puddle could ruin. I really don't care how much power it makes if it is unusable. For this amount you should get something that can be driven in the real world, not just a race track.
TheDon 03-04-2007, 06:09 PM The bad news is that after we recorded our test numbers, Hennessey’s driver went out and did 10 successive launches in an attempt to get slightly better times. He didn’t, but that abuse fried the stock torque converter, even though Hennessey assures us the $1200 upgrade he now offers would survive
YIKES ...
It's only money as they say.

Str8Srt8 03-04-2007, 11:22 PM Wow, it sounds like Hennessey has a serious problem with out-of-state customers and/or perhaps those that he thinks may be gay. I'll bet he's paranoid a lot of the time. There's just way, way too many ways to get even with people like that and so I'm surprised he still continues to have problems.
Anyway, sorry I started this post as I hate to get people fired up over nothing but then again, I'm glad I know the dark side of his business too. Thanks for all of the info.
