It was a 2007 silver GC SRT8 with about 15miles. I couldn't drive for long given the inclement weather in Chicago area. I know 15min of test driving simply doesn't do the justice on this vehicle but here are my initial impressions and questions:
1. Obviously, I couldn't really get on the car with the salesman in the car but it didn't feel that quick off the line. Now, could it be that the car starts in 2nd gear?? I had no traction issues.
2. The exhaust was surprisingly loud and boomy - which I like. I didn't get to drive it on the highway but hopefully droning exahust note isn't a problem during highway speeds?
3. Can you turn the fog lights on by itself or does it only come on with the headlights? I couldn't even locate the switch...
4. I was all set in buying the black until I found out that 2008 will have crystal pearl similar to other Chrysler cars. I saw a 300C and Sebring in the the pearl black and it was hideous. Looked dirty and grey. So, by default, I guess I will choose silver.
I'd certainly appreciate any feedback /advice.
Thanks!

1....It does not start in second. Nothing personal, but you obviously didn't nail it at WOT from a dead stop, as this vehicle will jump most anything off the line.....period.
2....Stock exhaust has no drone.
3....Yes, you pull out end of turn signal stalk to activate. They go off with use of bright lights.
4....Your call on color choice.

To add to what Teda says, the stock exhaust will continue to get a bit louder with some time. And no question it's quick as just about anything made from a dig.

Exactly! Half throttle on most cars is unimpressive.

Nothing to worry about... I think that you just need to get a better feel to the electronic throttle. My first experience in one was similar, as I knew how vicious these SUV's were, so I was trying to be nice and anticipate the throttle when accelerating (with the salesperson in the car). I have vehicles with and without ETC, but the first thing I noticed on my first test drive was that the throttle pedal seemed stiffer, and combining this with trying to be gentle may give the false impression that she is weak off the line... SHE AINT!

Speedracer333 - I couldn't have said it better! That's exactly what happened. The stiff throttle and gentle push certainly didn't allow me to fully exploit the power/ability of this car. I have no doubt under WOT, it will be a different situation.
Again, thank you for everyone's input.

A question about the electronic throttle. I'm used to the slightly slower reaction you get from them (my current vehicle has one). I know some vehicles have say the first 1/3 of the throttle less sensitive than the rest to make it easier when trying to drive in town. Is this Jeep like that?
I would be useful during the bad weather months here.
