ok found the answer to my Q

"It is not known exactly how many Grand Cherokee SRT8 models will be built during its first model year as Jeep does not release this information. Our latest estimate (May 2006), the most accurate available anywhere, puts the final 2006 model year total at between 3,000 and 3,300 units. Through December 31st 2005, more than 7,500 vehicles were built of the other three SRT8 models, the 300C, Magnum and Charger. By the end of the 2006 model year the total for all four SRT8 series vehicles is estimated to be near 20,000. Some dealers will be taking advantage of the limited production run, as they have with all of the other SRT8 vehicles that have been released. The "asking" and selling prices for the other models have ranged from MSRP to more than $10,000 over sticker. Some of the greedier dealers have been trying to get $10,000-$20,000 above retail. It is totally unnecessary in most cases to pay these outrageous premiums. Many 300Cs, Chargers and Magnums have been purchased for prices close to MSRP or slightly above, even earlier in the year when quantities were much tighter. "
