I see BJB has 2 entires. A supercharged Jeep and a TT Jeep. I noticed there has been some tight lips out there as well as being unable to obtain high end tuning. Time to spill the beans and fill us all in!!!!

Damn..I'm here and you get the results REAL time.
Who is leaking the info????

Ok...I have NEVER seen an event run so slowly in my life.
Oh, they changed it to 1/8 mile due to water coming out of the track just past the lights. WTH? I did walk up to the lights and check it out. Why not, I had plenty of damn time.
Hmmm, could that have been why the super streeter guy crashed into the wall past the traps?". Hmmm. Ok, mechanical failure.:confused::confused:

Oh well, good group of guys, although it it hard to make only a couple of passes in about 12 friggen hours.

There are a LOT of people being tight-lipped about what they are running this year which makes me think its gonna be a wild weekend of racing. Every couple of weeks I keep reminding the track to make sure its well-prepped for our weekend. I'm hearing thru the grapevine we should expect to see a few 11's, 10's, 9's . . . we'll find out in July!!!

Yea, I have not heard of any Jeeps in the 9's yet...

There are a handful of LX's there now, so should only be a matter of time....

Believe it or not, the Jeeps are so heavy and geared so low, that guys like me and Bronkie just sit there and spin through the 60' all four wheels. I run a spool in the back with NT555R's on 16psi, fronts down to 20psi. Doesn't help a bit... the over 5K lb race weight. FlaSRT8 will trap over 140mph when he's firing on all 8 cylinders again, but he won't see a 9 unless we can get these jeeps to hook.

One problem is our inability to do an adequate burnout, and lack of tire options. Full race slicks on 4 corners might do the trick but no one has tried it yet.

After seen it run mid 10's on 2 broken pistons, only 10 pds of boost, tuning issues with SCT not allowing it to shift properly, etc. I feel she can easily run 9's on 10 to 15 pds of boost once we replace the pistons and switch to Diablo.

Winston,

I think a Jeep can reach the 9's with these mods.........

Fully Gutted Jeep with drivers seat only
Jeep in 2WD mode (huge burnout with a full slick)
(get rid of the 20" rims too- Do like an 18" lite rim)
426 Twin Turbo with 20# of boost
BBill Rear end and Tranny with Trans brake

I think if you pulled a 1.4x 60 ft. time and it pulled like a mofo all the way down the track, I think you could crack off a 9 second pass

Please Read First:
Sam R. known to many of you as "OMSRT8" on the forums has again created his one-of-a-kind trophies for the drag racing competition of the LX & Beyond Nationals. Sam is an avid racing enthusiast and supporter of the LX community. We asked Sam to create the trophies last year for the Inaugural LX & Beyond Nationals and I think it goes without saying they were very well received. Due to the response from last year's attendees we asked Sam to do it again for 2009 and he accepted without hesitation.

This event is more about car enthusiast, friends and family coming together than any prizes or trophies. Sam donated a great deal of his time and money into these for all of you to enjoy. Whether you see him on the forums or in-person please be sure to thank him for his contribution to the LX community.

Thank you very much Sam.

There are some small Motels in the town just south of the track. It'd be about a 15 minute drive if anyone's interested. I can get the names of them if anyone has an interest. Boardman is the a big town and has a lot more to do, but if you can't find a hotel, these are available and close to the track.

I just listened to the weather for the weekend. It's supposed to rain Fri and Sat morning and be in the low 70s all weekend. I hate Ohio weather/

Wow, another LX & Beyond Nationals has come and gone!

First, I would like to thank each and every one of you that was able to attend the event this year and make it even better than last year. Without all of you there is no event. Let me say that again, “without ALL of YOU there is no event.” Thank you for your support, thank you for your kind words, thank you for attending and for all of the great memories.

Next, I would like to thank all of the 2009 LX & Beyond Sponsors. Hands-down this is the best group of people that I have had the pleasure of working with “A thru Z”. I only wanted the best this year and extremely grateful I got to work with the best. If you guys only knew the lengths each one of these companies and individuals went thru to support this event (only in its 2nd year) you would be amazed. Without them none of the great prizes, t-shirts, hats or giveaways would have been possible. Please let them know that we appreciate them supporting our hobby and hope they will be willing and able to continue doing it in the future. Whether or not you won an event prize or door prize, please take a moment to send them a quick email, start a thread, send them a PM or send them a message on their websites to thank them for supporting the event and our Modern Mopar community.

Also, thank you to Erich and all of the SRT Engineers for coming out on their own time to hang out and talk with all of us as well as bringing out some very cool rides. Anybody that did not attend this year definitely missed out on a great opportunity to meet some very interesting people. Those SRT guys really know how to make an exit!!!

Last but not least, I would like to personally thank all of the countless individuals that offered help and helped me make this event happen for everybody this weekend. I don’t want to name each person by name because I don’t want to do them an injustice by forgetting a name (there are so many). Just know that there are some truly amazing people in our community and the words “thank you” don’t capture how grateful I am to each and everyone one of them for what they did. Thank you.

There is an issue that I did not address prior to the event because I have always felt that the LX & Beyond Nationals is not about one or two individuals it’s about the entire Modern Mopar community. Day one, when this began in that parking lot three years ago at Quaker Steak & Lube in Columbus, Ohio it always has been about the community and as long as I am blessed to be here it will always be about the community. There was a vendor that I spoke to at the end of the day on Sunday that I want to thank for the feedback and the support (he knows who he is) and his words convinced me that it was necessary to say something.

Not many people knew it but the 2009 LX & Beyond Nationals was organized and run entirely by me. I did have a few volunteers help this weekend but other than that there was No crew and No staff. I know that everything was not perfect which gives some opportunity to improve things for next year but hope everyone had a great time.

I look forward to seeing everyone again for the 2010 LX & Beyond Nationals.

July 17-18, 2010 (save the date)

Sincerely.
